GMoca! As you might have already caught on, it’s been a busy month here at Animoca Brands. Amidst all the frenzy and meetups at TOKEN2049, we’ve been hard at work, focused on delivering impact across different verticals in the cryptocurrency industry.
Here are a few key updates from us so you don’t miss out on the next big thing:
Republic intends to tokenize Animoca Brands’ equity on Solana
AlphaTONCapital to acquire 51% of GAMEE Token and treasury tokens
SK Planet to integrate Moca Network's enterprise-grade decentralized identity infrastructure, including AIR Account and AIR Identity
SANDChain’s testnet goes live
Republic, a global investment platform, announced its plans to tokenize Animoca Brands’ equity on Solana. This will enable global investors to access our ecosystem of 600+ portfolio companies, democratizing ownership and access. Equity will be tokenized on Solana, enabling users to accrue value on-chain.
Trading will be supported on Republic’s marketplace, which handles both issuance and secondary sales. This move aligns with our vision to empower investors with ownership, providing new ways for users to gain exposure to Animoca Brands.
Our subsidiary GAMEE Token has become one of the most active Web3 gaming platforms, with 119 million registered users and 61 million daily active users on Telegram.
During TOKEN2049, we signed a non-binding letter of intent with AlphaTON Capital. Under the proposal, AlphaTON will acquire a 51% equity stake in GAMEE and 51% of GMEE and WAT tokens held in GAMEE’s treasury. AlphaTON also intends to buy up to US $3M of GMEE and US $1M of WAT on the open market.
If completed, this will mark a revolutionary shift in how digital asset treasury companies operate.
South Korean data and technology firm SK Planet announced its plans to buy MOCA tokens from the open market and integrate Moca Network’s AIR Account and AIR Identity infrastructure into its platform.
This is a significant step to empower users with digital ownership and one of the largest real-world deployments of decentralized identity so far. SK Planet boasts of 28 million users across its ecosystem, with 95K merchants and counting. The integration of AIR Kit will enable users to transact online with privacy and security, thanks to zero-knowledge proofs and data integrations.
Kenneth Shek, Project Lead of Moca Network, said: “SK Planet’s purchase of MOCA and full adoption of AIR Kit infrastructure is an important milestone in returning data ownership to users. By enabling merchant-side verification with user consent, SK Planet demonstrates how large platforms can apply decentralized identity in real business operations.”
The creator economy is worth over US$250B, but many creators still deal with unstable income, unclear revenue-sharing, and limited financing. Often, they are not rewarded for the value they produce through content and other innovative outlets. With that obstacle in mind, the SANDChain Foundation launched SANDchain, a cutting-edge digital infrastructure designed to tackle these problems.
