Nouns Town LA through the lens of NounishProf - Day 1

This blog post is part of the "Through the Lense" series which was sponsored through Nouns' proposal 583, Nouns Town LA.
The nounsfolk descended on Secret Walls in LA for a day of nounish activations, gaming, art, music and talksa by some of the biggest thought leaders in web3.
But my biggest delight was the realization of a two year dream come true.
Vinnie Hager x ⌐◨-◨
I first met artist Vinnie Hager at the TIME Magazine offices during NFT.NYC in 2022 when Keith Grossman, President of TIME back then (now MoonPay) invited a few artists and collectors of TIMEpieces to the offices for a live Twitter space. It was one of those experiences that could only be unlocked by contributing as a community member to an NFT project – and is one of my favorite memories of that period.
I left there with a Vinnie Hager one of one and a new friend. I would once again see Vinnie at TIMEpieces artist dinner at Art Basel in Miami that year. I was wearing my ⌐◨-◨ by Big Shot Klim and taking some nounish selfies lending out ⌐◨-◨ for pix only. But Vinnie talked me into giving him one of those ⌐◨-◨ and I did so with a promise: that there would be a Vinnie Hager x ⌐◨-◨ collab. I always knew that his art vibed so well with the ⌐◨-◨.
It may have taken a while but this was the realization of that dream with Vinnie at Nouns Town creating other one of ones for guests and creating art for the custom tshirt station. This was one of the best parts of Nouns Town and Benjamin Latsko’s brainchild: a screen printing and iron transfer area for attendees to create their own swag. Four options were available for screen printing and infinite options for mix and match iron transfers.
One of the those screen printing options was by Vinnie as well as many of the iron transfers. So I got to design an amazing one of one of these designs. I also had contributed some of my own GM Farcaster nounish art and it was such a rush to see people add those to their shirts and be able to design my own as well. This was by far my favorite part of Nouns Town and worth the long line to leave with this incredible physical reminder of this day.
And thanks Vinnie for making this dream a reality!
There was so much happening it’s hard to capture it all by here are my other favorite highlights:
⌐◨-◨ Nounish team bringing their draw together series live to Nouns Town. Especially fun to see my friends Joshua Fisher and Brett Draws Stuff do their thing live! AND to meet Becco in person! I’ve known Becco for a couple years but only on video calls – great to finally connect in person!
⌐◨-◨ Big Shot Klim’s amazing gallery of his work from noggles to toys it’s always amazing to see his work in person, the quality of which is second to none. Although Klim had planned to be there from the day Nouns Town was announced, Hurrican Helene almost derailed those plans. So glad he was able to be there in this moment – and Klim – those blue ⌐◨-◨ you made for Jesse Pollak were amazing!
⌐◨-◨ @ispeaknerd from Farcaster’s /tabletop channel was there play testing Nounish – the board game created by Brennen and funded by Nouns. As nerd put it “there was a Brennen sized hole at the event.” We missed you my friend but everyone loved your game!
⌐◨-◨ I finally got to Mari from Precious Plastics who had a custom design station and was making some amazing noggles from recycled plastic. I first met Mari via Lil Sisters when we funded her to get started. Amazing to see how far this project has come!
⌐◨-◨ The Gaming area was insane – the Smash Bros were smashing! And it later turned into a screening room for Nogglers and The Rise of Blus – look for those coming soon. They are so entertaining! Can’t wait for the next episodes!
⌐◨-◨ I missed The Park but could hear them in the distance and I was singing away “I don’t care about your man baby” while I was chillin and chatting in a cozy corner. (those convos were some of my favorite moments)
⌐◨-◨ Andrea and Nouns Breakers – wow!! Can someone please explain how they didn’t qualify for the Olympics and Raygun did? Incredible athleticism and art!
⌐◨-◨ THE SPEAKERS! WOW! I have never been more bullish on Nouns after hearing punk 4156 and Seneca talk about their vision for Nouns and Noun40’s passionate view of Nouns. I almost wanted to go get another tattoo! (yes, there was also a tattoo station)
⌐◨-◨ Builders, Builders, Builders! It was great to hear from Eric Towner chat about the Rose Parade and the Nouns documentary plus tonight’s upcoming Nouns Fest. And then Bob Burnquist chat about his Nouns journey. What other community has this level or talent?
⌐◨-◨ AND Jesse Pollak fresh off his first Coinbase Exec Team offsite in his new role still keeping his commitment to speak at Nouns Town, flying in for just a few hours. What??? Who does this? Jesse that’s who. He shared his DAO journey and then shared about Base’s journey. If you weren’t bullish about Base before that, you definitely were after!
⌐◨-◨ I ended this very long day at Saddle Ranch at Lil Hoedown with the Lil Nouners and frens. If you didn’t already know, Lil Nouns is one of the most fun communities in the Nouniverse. And we have the bull riding to prove it. Great job Bixbite pulling this together!
