Yes. It matters.
Mass measures the volume of atoms in a given object. It is constant and does not change with location.
Weight measures the gravitational force on a given object. It is not constant and changes on the context.
This distinction can help us better understand how we might be able to classify types of information and where they should go in a DAO.
That volume of information should not be directly correlated to the force generated by that piece of information.
Just because there is a lot of it, does not mean that it’s important. And just because there is very little of it, doesn’t mean that it isn’t important.
The opportunity is to create environments where important of information naturally carries more weight and can travel more fluidly than less important types of information.
To do this we must first understand what’s important, and why.
Then we can go about doing the easier work of teaching the environment to give the right force to the most important pieces of information.
We cant expect this to happen on it’s own. It must be designed with intention.
