We hope nobody was too severely impacted by the recent price movements in the industry. Markets rise and fall, but Builders keep building! And we’ve got some exciting updates lined up this week to prove it. As the ecosystem continues to evolve, our focus remains on strengthening the tools and governance that make community-led projects thrive.
Some important things to keep an eye on in the tech updates below! In particular, be sure to read up on the following:
Builder Coining Design Document – The initial draft of the upcoming community coining features is now available for review.
5th Community Product Session – happening October 23 at 12:00 PM (EDT). Join the discussion and let your opinions shape what’s next for Builder.
dGEN1 devices by Freedom Factory have started landing! The dGEN app store makes it easier than ever to install the Nouns Builder app directly, providing simple access to governance and auctions with the built in wallet.
It’s time for another round of Builder Buzz Tech Updates. Over the past weeks, we’ve pushed forward improvements across artwork management, onboarding flows, documentation, and the Farcaster Mini App, alongside long-standing fixes from the backlog. We also opened discussions on sustainable revenue models, recognizing this as an ongoing priority for the community. Our focus now is to balance delivery on feature requests with the technical implementation of the Zora Coining SDK and Social Feed feature for new revenue streams.
We request you to comment on the Builder Coining Design Document until October 17.
We want to invite you to the 5th Community Product Session on October 23 at 12:00 (EDT), where we will be discussing the Builder Coining Design Document. We request you to comment on the proposed specification and engage with us in shaping the final implementation of this feature.
We also intend to give this space to the community. If you have an agenda request, let us know and we will include it in the session.
We will share a Luma link for sign-up and agenda setting shortly.
Adding more DAO links requires contract changes. Thus, we will deprioritize this feature request.
Have a feature request or bug? Let us know!
Alongside the coining specification, we are refining user documentation to cover overlooked areas such as claim functionality and CSV uploads. These updates are aimed at smoothing onboarding, improving developer experience, and ensuring future contributors have a reliable knowledge base to work from.
If you see anything missing, let us know and we will revise the documentation accordingly.
We’ve published the DRAFT of the Builder Coining Design Document (v0.1) to lay out an actionable plan to extend Builder beyond ERC-721s with ERC-20 “coining”, integrating Zora’s SDK, a mobile-first feed and curated gallery, and a revenue model that MAY pair DAO coins - generating platform and trade referrals, LP rewards.
Request for Comments: The document can be accessed here and we solicit feedback until October 17, 2025.
A common request has been clearer documentation for the claim functionality in Builder. We’ve now expanded the reference to explain how claims are processed, under what conditions rewards can be accessed, and how DAO members can audit claim transactions. This should reduce confusion for newer users and help ensure transparency across proposals. The corresponding PR is found here.
We also added documentation for creating Airdrops, also reflecting the latest addition of the CSV upload feature for airdrops to many recipients.
Since the last edition of Builder Buzz, we’ve been working on many issues mainly visible on the backend and important to technical contributors. Still, there are a few feature releases regular users will notice:
We added the ability to split auction rewards with a dedicated withdraw button. Tooltips now clarify the differences between Builder Rewards, Referral Rewards, and Founder Rewards, and balances are hidden if the Founder Rewards Split Percentage is set at 0.
To simplify distribution flows, we’ve introduced support for CSV uploads. DAO operators can now bulk-upload recipient lists for airdrops or rewards, reducing manual overhead and minimizing risk of error. This functionality was designed with both flexibility and transparency in mind, and will continue to be iterated as DAOs put it into practice.
The ongoing frontend refactor is progressing steadily. The UI component library has been extracted into a separate package (with hooks, utils, and services already on npm). Larger app modules such as auction, DAO creation, and proposal voting are being carefully broken out, with dependency untangling to ensure ease of adoption by external teams.
The goal is to make components framework-agnostic, reducing lock-in and encouraging wider use across DAOs. The refactor is already improving development speed and code stability. Community members can test updated components here.
We are excited to confirm the Gnars x Builder Hacker House at Devconnect. This event will bring together builders, skaters, and DAO members to experiment with new tooling, test prototypes, and collaborate on live projects. More details will follow soon, including ways for community members to get involved.
While tackling high-priority community requests, supporting 0xSatori in onboarding new DAOs using the Collection+ mechanism, and finalizing the component refactor, our main priority is enabling coining on Builder by integrating with the Zora Coining SDK.
Updated user links throughout the app to lead to the profile page instead of Basescan
Enabled ERC20s to be used in escrow proposals
Fixed wallet connections to be sensitive to manual disconnects and connected network state
The decoding of transaction data displayed at the bottom of the proposal was erroneous and fixed accordingly
Enabling the upload of CSV lists for recipients of Airdrops
Allowing users to withdraw auction rewards from the frontend, as well as add visibility to the current auction reward split
The Tech Pod will continue hosting Tech Office Hours once per week on Thursdays at 12:00pm ET. If you have any tech-related questions, suggestions, or otherwise, please stop by to chat with them. You can register your interest in the next call on October 16th, at 12:00pm in Discord.
In addition to the weekly Tech office hours, the Builder Build bi-weekly call takes place on Tuesdays at 2:00pm ET - the next call is scheduled for October 14th. Please note that this is a new day and time! You can register your interest in Discord here. This past Builder monthly meeting occurred on September 30th, the agenda is below and the recording is in our Discord here. You can also find a summary and notes from the call in the Builder DAO Notion database here.
The Builder Channel on Farcaster displays a feed of activity from members of Builder, including casts and onchain activity such as auctions, proposals, and votes. Farcaster is a great way to keep up to date with your fellow Builders! Follow the @builderbot and receive notifications about governance activity in the DAOs you are a member of!
