In our Canto Hackathon winners interview series, we spoke with Beanie, one of the three founders behind TucanFi.

TLDR; TucanFi, a memecoin launchpad for Canto, aims to simplify the creation and launch of memecoins beyond web3 communities. TucanFi is focused on an upcoming token sale and aims to release an audited product for the Canto community in time for memecoin summer 2024. The team aspires to be the go-to launchpad for token creation on Canto and encourages other developers to dive into Canto projects.

Q1: Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your background and what drew you to Canto?

Hi, I'm @beanie, one of the three co-founders at Tucanfi. I've worked across DeFi and GameFi projects in the EVM space for the last five years, leading product and business development teams.  We are excited to see the rebirth of Canto in memecoin summer.  We love to move fast, and Canto is the fastest-moving L2 and one of the unsung heroes in the space. We are excited to move fast and create a new meme ecosystem there.

Q2: Can you walk us through TucanFi and explain what problem it aims to solve?

Memecoins are the fastest growing sector in the crypto economy, accounting for over 50 billion in growth and one million+ new users in the space in 2024.  The meme ecosystem has been labeled the largest onboarding tool for web3 users. We are looking to be the most intuitive way for any community anywhere to launch a token that matters to them.  We are excited by applications for cross-over into sports communities, arts communities, and gamer communities outside of web3.

Q3: How did participating in the Canto Hackathon help you grow as a developer?

We enjoyed the focus towards delivering a product at speed in a cohort of like-minded folks looking to solve a variety of problems in the DeFi, GameFi, and infra space.

Q4: What are the next steps for your project? Are there any specific goals or milestones you’re aiming to achieve in the near future?

We are focused on our token sale to have audited products out ASAP for the Canto community to use for meme summer 2024 :).

Q5: What kind of support or resources would be most helpful for you as you continue to develop and go-to-market?

We are a community and product-first team, so while we are happily building on those fronts, we are grateful for the venture relations support in getting our project out into the VC community in web3.

Q6: How do you see your project fitting into the broader ecosystem of Canto and the blockchain/developer community?

We aim to be the launchpad for anyone contemplating launching a token anywhere.
