The Community Micro Short Award has come to a close, and with it, three bold stories emerge!
Created to spotlight 3-5 minute short films and music videos, this award celebrates creativity born from constraint: what story can you tell with such a short runtime?
Supported by Decentralized Pictures and powered by community donations through Endaoment, 100% of contributions go directly to the winning filmmakers. Cinema by and for the people.
At its heart, this initiative embodies what we believe in most: Independent cinema belongs to everyone.
A BIG congrats to our three recipients!

Four friends, one stalled car, and a Schrödinger-inspired mystery. Written as part of a Coders Room zero-budget assignment in Colombia, this 3-5 minute film was written on a Thursday, shot on Saturday, and delivered by Monday: an exercise in speed, collaboration, and creative constraint.

Playful and claustrophobic, the short reimagines Schrödinger’s cat through a philosophical lens: four passengers trapped between humor and dread, wondering if they’re already dead.
A writer and filmmaker with The Coders Room, Stephen Deery creates darkly humorous, philosophy-driven stories that thrive on collaboration and constraint. His work bridges creativity and community proving that vision outlasts budget.
All award proceeds will go towards developing La Residencia, The Coders Room’s upcoming Colombian psychological horror series exploring memory, grief, and silence. This is exactly the kind of domino effect we want to see happening!
The Coders Room is an international collective of filmmakers and writers crafting genre-defying stories rooted in Colombian culture, with global appeal. The collective was the 1st recipient of the Arts3 Web3 Startup Award.

A poetic, musical documentary dedicated to the children of Ukraine, victims of an ongoing war.
Inspired by the verses of Lesya Ukrainka (1871-1913), one of Ukraine’s most celebrated poets, the film bridges past and present through lyrics, grief, and resilience.
The short invites viewers to reflect, to speak, and to ask: What more must happen before humanity listens?

A veteran Ukrainian composer and filmmaker, Alexander Sparinsky has scored and directed dozens of films and performances. His work blends music and image into poetic reflections on humanity.
A full-length, fully licensed music video, this short celebrates Snoop Dogg’s hometown of Long Beach, California, and his genesis NFT single “High.” Part of a larger Film3 storytelling experience called Long Beach Lifted, the project merges hip-hop, cinema, and blockchain creativity. Right at home with DCP!

A California-based documentarian and storyteller, Jason Charnick captures the beauty and struggle of everyday life with authenticity. Influenced by indie greats from Cassavetes to Sean Baker, his work blends honesty and experimentation. His winnings will fuel two upcoming projects: The Absence is Always Present and Sad Dads Club.
Each of these projects captures what makes the DCP community thrive, vision, audacity, and the courage to create with whatever you have.
To everyone who submitted, voted, donated, or shared their voice, thank you! You are proof that the future of film is decentralized, collaborative, and alive.
Keep your eyes peeled for new award announcements! We look forward to seeing more from all of you :)
