In a reply, Josh Stark described ETH as a native asset of Ethereum that is used by millions as a yield-bearing, censorship-resistant digital asset. It also serves as the network’s primary transaction collateral and secures Ethereum through staking.
Lodestar is shifting from a JavaScript-only Ethereum consensus client to a hybrid architecture using JavaScript and Zig. The transition includes rewriting core modules in Zig for improved performance. The runtime environment will move from Node.js to Bun. Lodestar will continue maintaining browser compatibility during this transition.
Erigon released version 3.0.8 under the codename "Otterly Odissey." This update includes support for Heimdall V2 and other performance enhancements. The release is available on GitHub. Erigon is one of several Ethereum clients focused on archival and tracing functionality.
ZisK’s open-source RISC-V zkVM implementation reached 1.5GHz in trace generation. This performance is reported to be 10 times faster than comparable zkVMs. The architecture enables parallelized proving using GPU clusters. The code is available under an open-source license.
Ethereum Cat Herders hosted the 41st All Core Devs Testing call. Topics included testing progress on Fusaka Devnet 2, PeerDAS implementation, and EIP-7907. Additional discussions covered engine API updates, including engine_getBlobsV2
. The call was conducted on June 23, 2025, at 14:00 UTC.
EIP-7782 proposes reducing Ethereum’s slot time from 12 seconds to 6 seconds. The proposal is listed as part of the upcoming "Glamsterdam" upgrade. The primary change involves increasing the number of slots per epoch while maintaining the existing epoch duration. Validator and network implications are under review.
Agglayer deployed version 0.3 to mainnet. The update introduces enhancements for routing and unified liquidity across rollups. The deployment is part of its ongoing effort to coordinate interoperability between Layer 2 networks. The update follows multiple prior development testnets.
@growthepie_eth reported that over 20 million unique addresses interacted with the Ethereum ecosystem in the past week. Layer 2 activity comprised 87.55% of that usage, with 1.2% on cross-layer transactions and 9.19% on mainnet. Multiple Layer 2s accounted for 2.05%. The data reflects on-chain wallet interactions across the network.
Across Protocol began its Crosschain Summer Bootcamp. The initiative includes educational programming on crosschain interoperability. Participants can access the program through the project’s Guild. The series is aimed at developers and users interested in multichain tools and concepts.
A new PEEPanEIP episode focuses on EIP-7907, featuring Qi Zhou. The proposal suggests metering smart contract code size and adjusting associated limits. It includes technical rationales for safer and more efficient contract deployments. The episode is available on the Ethereum Cat Herders YouTube channel.
A new EthResear.ch post outlines a blob-sharing model for based rollups. Authors Anshu Jalan and Lin Oshitani suggest a shared proposer system to reduce blob space inefficiencies. The paper describes operator-level costs and proposes a coordination mechanism. The topic is relevant for future blob utilization planning.
@Paradigm released an agenda update for the upcoming Frontiers 2025 event, scheduled for August 6–8 in San Francisco. Day 2 will include three sessions on high-performance Ethereum infrastructure. Presenters will cover topics such as optimizing Reth, scaling Ethereum’s state trie, and L1 improvements. Applications for attendance remain open.
@SharpLinkGaming announced that its SBET token was approved for options trading on Nasdaq. This listing allows regulated derivative trading of the SBET token. The approval follows Nasdaq’s internal review and compliance procedures. The token is associated with the SharpLink Gaming ecosystem.
Beginning June 23, 2025, Ethereum Daily will limit Layer 2 coverage to rollups recognized under the latest @l2beat recategorization. This update aligns with L2Beat’s updated standards for classification.
