Hey Gang,
This one’s packed. From designing merch that moves people, to spotlighting builders across LATAM and beyond: this edition is all about intention.
Intention in what we make.
Intention in what we wear.
Intention in how we gather.
Intention in how we’re seen.
Here’s what we’ve been creating, celebrating, and learning.
How great design transforms attendees into passionate community members
You hand out a t-shirt. Someone smiles. Maybe they throw it on. Maybe they throw it out.
But what if that shirt did more than take up space in a suitcase? What if it became a uniform? A conversation starter? A catalyst for brand loyalty?
Let’s break it down: merch is not a freebie (after all it’s coming out of your marketing budget). It’s a strategic tool. And if used intentionally, it can convert passive event attendees into long-term believers in your brand.
According to the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI), 85% of people remember the brand that gave them a piece of merch, and 58% keep it for one to four years. That’s more long-term brand retention than most digital ads.
Let’s put it in perspective:
The average cost-per-impression (CPI) for a branded t-shirt is $0.007.
73% of people own a promotional product, and 83% of those say they are more likely to do business with the brand as a result.
When merch is meaningful, the marketing impact lingers.
In a digital-first world, something you can touch carries weight. A well-made item builds emotional connection in a way Instagram ads can't.
When merch is treated like a drop instead of a giveaway, people perceive it as special. Limited runs = higher perceived value.
When someone wears your merch, they’re telling the world they align with your mission, your vibe, your people.
From volunteer tees to ambassador jackets, merch becomes a marker of belonging. People love to feel part of something bigger.
Gitcoin's DAO patch turn contributors into lifelong advocates by giving them a wearable badge of honor.
Nouns DAO’s IRL glasses became an iconic symbol, turning holders into walking billboards (and conversation starters).
Coachella wristbands double as access and mementos, still worn long after the event ends.
The takeaway? Merch doesn’t end when the event does. It extends your reach into the real world.
It’s not just about warm fuzzies. You can measure the real impact:
QR/NFC Scans: Track digital engagement linked to physical items.
Redemption Rates: Offer access or perks through merch.
Social Shares: Look for tagged posts wearing or mentioning the merch.
Repeat Engagement: Who comes back? Who wears your brand twice?
At Guava, we believe the best merch is:
Designed with purpose
Rooted in story
Integrated into your broader strategy
Made to matter, not to fill swag bags
We don’t do landfill fashion. We do lasting impressions.
Want to learn how to design merch that drives action, builds identity, and makes people feel part of your mission?
We’ve done everything from money guns to newspapers, poker chip kits, and even custom cocktails.
Your brand presence doesn’t have to live on a t-shirt—it can show up anywhere. Even on a coaster. 😉

Let’s talk.
Your community (and your KPIs) will thank you.
Over the past weeks, we’ve been connecting with brilliant minds across the Web3 ecosystem, amplifying builders, organizers, and storytellers shaping the future from every corner of the world.
Through our media series, we’ve spotlighted powerful initiatives, and in some cases, we’ve joined the action ourselves (like with our media partnership for ETH Cinco de Mayo!).
Don’t miss these conversations:
🍈 Our chat with Celic Torres — co-founder of ETH Cinco de Mayo. From side events to the hacker house, the ETH Cinco de Mayo schedule is packed with purpose: and it’s all going down this week.
We’re diving deep into how this event is creating real space for Latin builders to shine. Follow along on our socials to catch all the interviews, behind-the-scenes moments, and the stories that matter.
🍈 Amiraa x Abena — the founder of ETHAccra, a standout hackathon making waves in Ghana. We talked about building from Africa for the world, and how the local energy is shaping global innovation.
🍈 Simoneth x Ethereum Lima — a live session with Yami, Cryptomorfosis, and Jargo about Ethereum Lima, happening May 10. If you’re in Peru, this is the event you don’t want to miss.
🍈 Guava x Base LATAM — The amazing Base Latam community led by Leo invited us to share what we’re building, the heart of Guava, and what’s coming next. Big thanks to Base LATAM for holding the space and for having us! 🎙 Listen to the recording.

TOMORROW, Friday May 2, we’re throwing a beautiful party with our friends at Mantle to celebrate ETH Cinco de Mayo. Vibes only, no shilling. Music, visuals, and community. Come through.
