This morning, after running and exercising, I felt healthy and clear-minded, and I realized something nice:
When I eat well, sleep well, exercise, and live a good lifestyle, with plenty of energy and a calm mind, I become more humane, more amicable, more willing to give, more forgiving, less irritable, braver and more truthful, and less hesitant about tasks. (1)
On the flip side, when I don't live right, drink alcohol, and am lazy about exercising, I tend to act worse, my animal side takes over, I become more selfish, my ability to empathize and forgive significantly decreases, I'm more prone to lying and talking nonsense, and I become lazier and more inclined to avoid work. (2)
Living according to direction (1), I find that people around me are more gentle, happy, amicable, and they appreciate me more; they often give me food or help with small things when needed. But in direction (2), I get ostracized, silently disliked, with a significant build-up of annoyance towards me, and over time, the consequences manifest as a bunch of bad luck coming together, and my life deteriorates without me realizing it.
I work here, and on a good day, I fulfill my responsibilities well, with extra energy to help those who deserve it, even if it's just small things, because these small actions can have a profound impact.
Don't dream of being an unrealistic hero; being an ordinary person with standard, practical actions (even if they are small and simple) is much more meaningful and effective than daydreaming about grand things without doing anything.
Ps: Perhaps being kind to oneself is the foundation for being kind to life. Usually, whatever we throw into life, life throws back at us, often with interest. So, aim to throw in some good vibes.
