Few gamers haven't heard of Pokémon. And when the topic of GameFi comes up, the first idea that usually comes to mind is: "a game where each monster is an NFT that you can trade."
Will Clankermon, the mini-app on Farcaster, follow the same path or innovate?

Everyone starts at level 1 with 10 energy and a free, level 0 Babymon. All actions are transactions on the Base network, but the team pays the gas fees for us, so you don't need any crypto to get started.
Initially, energy is used to train your little monster and, most importantly, to prevent it from dying after a few days. Once it reaches level 10, the Babymon evolves into its adult form. We'll cover this in more detail in the next section.
Energy regenerates on its own every 15 minutes, and the only way to increase your energy capacity is by leveling up. To do so, you have two options:
* Make transactions over $100 with the built-in wallet to gain experience.
* Complete quests.
You need a total of 10,000 XP to get your Babymon to level 10. Without paying, and by being particularly diligent, this will take a few weeks. Of course, you can shorten this time by buying items from the market, using the daily refill, or by trading a lot to get a larger energy capacity.
If you have multiple Babymons, I recommend not using the "Distribute evenly" feature. Focus on your most advanced Babymon and only spend one energy point on the others to keep them from dying.
As soon as your Babymons evolve into Clankermons, you can start participating in dungeons! They all cost a certain amount of energy, but the first one is free.

The more expensive the dungeon entry, the more experience and rare drops it will yield. But be careful, the failure rate is also higher. To optimize your chances, I suggest leveling up your Clankermons to at least level 2 or 3 and aiming for a success rate above 65%. If you're below that, stick to the first dungeon, as the coin-rewarding item is quite rare.
You'll notice that dungeons are tied to an element (leaf, fire, water, earth...). If you have a fire-type Clankermon, it will be more effective in a leaf-type dungeon. The same logic applies to other elements, but it's still recommended to level up your monsters before taking on Medium difficulty dungeons.
Another very interesting game mechanic relates to the Clankermons' stats. Their name is linked to a token (like $UNI, $QR, $NOICE, etc.), and depending on the token's price, their base stats will be more or less powerful! During a market downturn, it might be better to spend your energy on training rather than exploring dungeons.
Now that we know a bit more about the game itself, let's take a closer look at the market's health. Let's start with the market cap and the number of holders, and then compare these figures with the game's NFT market indicators.

I'm not an expert in financial market analysis, but the difference between this chart and a typical memecoin's is quite striking. There was the initial speculation, of course, but the fact that the team continued to deliver updates throughout the first half of the year shows that buyers are still engaged and have maintained a solid market cap for a new game.
With a current price of $0.001458, getting a Babymon today costs $14.58 (10,000 $CLANKERMON). A price that has increased by 50% in the last week... and can therefore be very volatile over time. Perhaps the price will be adjusted if the token becomes too successful, as it's important for the entry price of these games to remain affordable.

On the NFT side, the secondary market has been open since August 23, 2025. Activity isn't huge, given the difficulty of buying NFTs directly from the app, but that could change in the future... and this activity could see an uptick. Currently, the average price of a Clankermon is $67, but be warned: when trading becomes easier, prices tend to drop (which makes sense, as supply increases).

Analyzing the biggest sales, it's currently difficult to establish a clear correlation between the price and the Clankermons sold. Several level 1s have been bought for $200, while a level 3 was purchased for $300 without any particular rare traits, whereas other level 3 Clankermons sold for between $30 and $70. What about the rarest Clankermons (like those with the Uni trait or at level 7)?
If you don't want to spend any money in the game, know that you'll have a chance to evolve your Babymon into a Clankermon... and then complete enough quests to earn the 10,000 $CLANKERMON needed to buy a new Babymon. But it will take time, and you can't forget about your Clankermon, or it might die. Even though this completes a quest, it costs 1,000 $CLANKERMON to resurrect it!
I recommend having one Clankermon to run dungeons and a team of Babymons to train on the side. After they evolve ("the reveal"), you can easily resell them for over $10-15 if you don't like their traits.
Buying Clankermons on the secondary market will allow you to run more dungeons and therefore finish quests faster. The goal is to reach a higher level to get more energy. More energy means faster Babymon evolution, which in turn means more Clankermons to build out your team... or to sell.
There is no roadmap for the project, so it's hard to know if there will be an infinite supply of the currently available Clankermons or if, like Pokémon, there will be multiple generations. In the first case, rarity won't matter much, as more and more people will eventually own the rarest Clankermons. In the second case, it might be worthwhile to keep a few collectibles in your wallet. A word to the wise...
Disclaimer : As shown in my screenshots, I own several Babymons, Clankermons, and some $CLANKERMON tokens. I have no connection to the development team, and this content is not sponsored.

Sold some mons, hope you enjoyed the discount . Filled the rest with some spare eth, thx @brixbounty for the support, I will remember it I'm ready for the alpha 🫡

I think a detailed explanatory guide would be helpful, as the prices are quite high, around $11 for a baby monster that needs to be leveled up to level 10 just to get started
Mmh.. If you're not comfortable with lootboxes, you can get a couple of common mons for 5-7$ on the secondary I wrote this some months ago, it really depends on your strategy in game. If you get a rare Mon, better lvl up them high. Otherwise you can grind in the hope to resell your item. Idk what @matthewfox team is cooking but I like the game so far so... I'm betting on the success of what's coming next 🙂 https://paragraph.com/@konohime/pixel-to-block-clankermon
I'm trying to understand the game right now, I have 4 Babymon, 3 of which are already dead (I just noticed 😅) and a Farcoin fighter (where I can see his level and other things...)
Thank you for all these explanations, I'll read them as soon as I get home 🙏
Can someone explain to me how Clankermon works? I currently have a babymon, which I have been training (although I'm not sure what this does to be honest) at level 2. Do i just need to continue training it every time I can (when energy resets) and climb up the levels? How do I turn babymon into Clankermon? Cheers all!

Very useful thank you!
Anytime 😊 gameplay will probably evolved through time but I thought it was a good idea to document / curate some games around
Looks like you got some good responses already. Just want to make sure you check the quest page as you lvl up your babymon
Are quests essential? I couldn't work out if the stuff the quest would give me as necessary for the mon.
No, it’s not. But it gives you experience to lvl you up as a trainer —> more energy to train your mon. It does not make much difference if you have 1 mon though.
You have to reach lvl 10 Then you can reveal it and there are different drop chances if you get a common, rare, epic or legendary mon
cool, thank you!
