Based: I Need a Dev!
In August I minted Based. “A token for the early adopters.” Open for the whole month, it closed just shy of 46.5K tokens minted and over 33k unique wallets. The most resonant piece in my young onchain discography by many multiples. Immediately I felt understanding emerge in regard to Jack Butcher’s words about his Checks and Opepen projects. Retrofitted for this post, he spoke of the impetus to experiment with each collection (initially just single-piece open editions) coming after seeing the...

Things have tended to become terribly boring in my life. My curiosities, and thus my creative ambitions, near avarice levels at times. The path of ‘enlightenment’ has replaced all my old addictions with just one; the desire to see things vibrate at their highest frequency.
In this stew of my own making I have become disgruntled with the ambitions of many artists in the onchain space. I realize that this is more a reflection of my own failure to reach my personal standards. So, Abstraverse is my way of channeling this insight.
Founded in 2021, onchain. Migrated to its own contract in 2022; Abstraverse v1 was a massive success if you consider an unkown artist selling 120 digital paintings for close to six figures in the span of 6 weeks.
But, as many artists seem to be coming to grips with this shitcoin season, the path of selling art to coin gamblers is short lived. A new path needed paving.

The initial idea was a series of locality inducing abstract paintings. I wanted to bridge the gap of abstract art with a more perspective based viewer orientation. The initial 120 paintings are all in this style and animated. An additional 1-200+ were created in 2022 that I am currently curating for mints.

Part of the new path for Abstraverse. A 50 piece collection of introverted, music obsessed archetypes of all shapes and sizes, species and colors. Streaming AI is a modern interpretation of the terminally online generations of Millenials and Gen Z.

Part generative art remixing of the infamous Chromie Squiggles, part abstract crypto-pop art. After nearly three years on ct, Gummy Worms is dual purposed:
A snapshot of creative progression and the crypto market for later reflection
A high effort attempt at derivative gen art

Design art for the onchain world. Memeware is art that distills value add memes for the creators and builders of the next internet era. It is a minimalistic infographic design series that bridges the worlds of fine art and design.

A glitch series focused on power and the shadows of humanity. LAWLESS is a mix of esotericism, warfare, seduction, and contemporary digital art.
A 50 piece collection that is built with gallery sized displays in mind.
My ambitions for onchain art are akin to sports entertainment or esports. I see a world where visual artists have careers like athletes or musicians if they so choose. A system in place, thanks to blockchains, that allows them to curate ecosystems around the inherent memes they express and attract resonant beings to.
They say art is priceless. That’s a shitty way of saying this thing is so damn valuable we aren’t sure how to price it. Abstraverse is an experiment in price discovery that interests me more than any current alternative in onchain visual art.
