happy thanksgiving
this thanksgiving, i'm reminding myself to pay attention to what's actually here. the people who shows up, the moments that feel good, the small wins that carried me through, the laughter that softens the long days & the courage it took to keep it movin'. it's easy to get stuck on what's missing, but there's so much worth holding close. so today, on thanksgiving, i'm choosing gratitude for health we have, the memories we're makin' & the blessings i didn't always noticed.
berry blast smoothie
1 cup coconut water 1 scoop vanilla vegan protein powder 1/2 cup assorted berries (blackberries, blueberries, cranberries, raspberries & strawberries) fresh or frozen handful spinach
photoshoot prep
this is goin' to be a really fun project! as you can imagine, the preparations for it will be insanely physical. the good thing about gettin' ready for the photoshoot is that i'm able to have a much different training schedule than i do when i'm workin'. in order to look my very best in front of the camera, i have to put myself through an intense, exhausting routine. i did a lot of hot yoga, sometimes twice a day or i would do fasted cardio in the morning & hot yoga in the evening. the other ...

in order to look my very best in front of the camera, i have to put myself through an intense, exhausting routine.
i did a lot of hot yoga, i would do that for 90 minutes sometimes twice a day. i'd also do cardio sesh in the morning & weight training sesh in the evening. yoga was a staple but other than that i would just always switch things up because i get bored easily.
basically i just had to challenge myself to stay interested. training is fun but it can get boring.
while the hours of training 1 must endure to look picture perfect in front of the camera can be intense, i also have to put myself on a strict diet.
the good thing about being at home is that i got to eat a lot healthier than i usually do when i'm on the road.
i have more control over what i ate, as opposed to eating at denny's at midnight after a show.
i'm not a fan of the whole no or low carbs craze because i love carbs, & i'm not really into eating high fat meats but i eat a lot of fish.
i think that 1 should be conscious of what they're eating but w/out goin' overboard, because all that will do is make them miserable & that's no fun.
i love training & i'd rather train harder & eat sensible than go crazy w/my diet, i'll just get grumpy that way.
stayin' in shape for a competition is an ongoing process, it's something you're always training for. whereas gettin' ready for a project is just a matter of gritting your teeth & committing to it.
i don't look at the pictures to try to make my body look better, i just like to try to find creative new ways to be in a bikini.
