In 1916, the aristocrat Henrique Maufroy de Seixas made a request to the Cascais City Council to build a mansion in the place of the old Santa Catarina Fort, presenting a project designed by Norte Júnior. The property would be fully completed in the early 1930s.
Manfroy Seixas left this house to the Navy in 1945, with the use of his wife D. Ilda dos Santos de Seixas, and today it is the headquarters of the Cascais Port Captaincy and also houses the Navy Mess.
