AMERICAN PIE: when emo-core and jerk merged into something beautiful
You know, for me, Surf Gang used to consist exclusively of the endlessly adored evilgiane and the very interesting Babyxsosa (I'll write about her sometime), but this year I discovered another cool member of the group - POLO PERKS <3<3<3. Both his old works and new ones are distinguished by very cool guitar and rock samples. And what happened with Polo when he started working with the cool producer Fear Dorian is just a song, literally. After the success of the composition "BOYBAND", the guys released an album with AyooLii A Dog's Chance, where, in my opinion, there is too much unnecessary.
But where there is nothing unnecessary, it is on the EP "AMERICAN PIE", released this Wednesday. The producers of the release were Fear Dorian and two beatmakers from NOVAGANG: Quinn and Zoot. And the style of each beatmaker is well-read here, and POLO's reading fits in well with the concept of the sound of each of the beats. I really like that the emo and pop-punk bases, taken as samples for 3 of the 4 tracks, are not completely drowned out by the bass and jerk-beat, but break through even through POLO's rough and loud voice. This, in addition to the tempo and the manner of performance itself, helps to maintain a very cheerful mood. Personally, I would like to highlight the track "SIR LOOGIE NOISE" in this small work. It is very dynamic and sensual, and also this video, full of an endless number of colors. The video really looks like something that could have been filmed for MTV at the end of the 2000s. In short, for me POLO turned out to be an artist who feels tough and successful. I'm glad that he has radically changed the vector of his sound, ceasing to be just a gloomy guy from Surf Gang, showing how much energy and passion he has.
