There is a certain necessity for all Vernunftarten to be active during an experience, otherwise living is like water slipping through fingers in a desolated emptiness of the universe.
To be clear: one, constant and universal hierarchy of values doesn't mean that everyone should think the same and have the same interests. Each interest has the potential to generate its own unique set of higher values, distinct from those associated with other interests. However, within a single interest, different individuals may derive varying degrees of values, with some experiencing higher values. Somebody claims to like cooking - in itself, it is a meaningless statement. Only when considered that interest through its value-bearer's value-feelings and personality may it be meaningful to a recipient. Cooking for the sake of servitude; to fulfill basic needs; to experience values of pleasure and vitality. Is not the same as cooking to share - own understanding of the way, from which the meaning of certain culinary methods emerged; own journey to those methods; perception of harmony - and thus evoke joy, connection - between each other, with the earth from which the ingredients come, and with spiritualty, by involvement in the sacred cycle of life, in which transforming (cooking) plays the role of a mediator between the earthly and the divine. (The triad Heaven-Earth-Human, or Tian Di Ren, is a basic triad in Chinese philosophy, that may be applied to wine tasting also). (Yes, the latter is more difficult nowadays due to humans living in wage cages, and the food being mass-produced in a grotesque twisted pattern (cycle?) of life. But nonetheless possible - furthermore, I promise the former and the latter method take the same amount of time. The difference is elsewhere). For example, within the Di aspect: the complex flavors of a ripe tomato are created by a combination of sugar, acids, and aromatic compounds, which work together to create a sweet, tangy, and savory taste. In contrast, the artificial flavor of tomato may contain only a few chemical compounds, which can lack the depth and complexity of natural tomato flavor. Furthermore, it is not just how it tastes at the moment, but also how does the eaten food make one feel later.
Again, not everyone is vocated to experience a tomato (and the cooking, the culinary techne, the final dish) fully. Because to experience a tomato fully requires decades of conscious effort: self-reflection, curiosity, creativity, appreciation of beauty - to transcend mere pleasure, and become open to higher experiences. Which in turn requires to develop character virtues, which requires love for higher values. Of course I don't mean eating a raw tomato as a highlight of the day, ecstatic equivalent of listening to a peak of an aria at an opera (although not mutually exclusive) - but life consists of millions of activities like eating a tomato, and such aforementioned openness allows for every moment to not fade in the abyss of time like a tear in rain; to be closer to ones true self; to be joyful, multidimensional, not bound to lower values. Tomato is a simplest one, interaction between a thing and a human; of course there are more complex activities that involve more complex interactions with the potential to reach a greater experience - however still these activities may be confined within lower value-modalities or higher. Similarly to this description of eating a tomato, one could treat travel, friendship, conversation.
... And that what you eat, you become. Now, analogically to different ways of experiencing eating a tomato, it is to everyone's liberty to chose what books they feed themselves with, or maybe memes and tik-tok only is the choice made. I wonder how tik-tok's overwhelming popularity speaks to dr Maj's advocating for the popular being equal to unpopular though great, merely due to its popularity?
