Some dev/education projects find it hard to assess impact, and it's even harder with NFT projects.
For friends who are focused on creating NFTs, I believe that merely minting images may not be sufficient. If we want to ensure our work has a significant impact, it's essential to go beyond just minting and create something that attracts everyone's attention.

Criteria for evaluating participants in retroPGF already exist. Reading the criteria from retroPGF3 is like having a great guideline to help plan better. Try reading the Impact Evaluation Framework, it will help a lot in planning.

However, it still depends on each Badgeholder's judgment, so we better do our best to ensure our impact.
Disclaimer: The following content is my "opinion", not fact.
In the last retroPGF3 round, many projects cited their NFT minting numbers as an achievement, sometimes minting thousands, whether on Zora or Sound. 👉 Just spam minting and then using it as a submission for retroPGF is possible, but is it really a good strategy? I think no.
🫠 If we just make NFTs and invite friends to mint, our impact would likely be minimal. Since we might not even be sure of our impact, other badgeholders probably think the same.
Let's look at NFT projects that I think have cool impacts.

Even though there's a fee for minting NFTs and one must buy to join the community [I personally wonder if this qualifies as a public good?] 👉 But building a community on OP is undeniably impactful.
Bored Town isn't just sold out and stop working; they continue releasing many new and beautiful collections.

👉 Bored town doesn’t just support holders; it organizes Art contests with many participants, which are definitely public goods.

Bored town's Discord also has giveaways and activities for both non-holders and holders.

There are surely many more activites I haven’t mentioned.
There are many other NFT community projects, but I don't follow them closely.

OPhoenix takes a different approach, creating 1,000 beautiful art pieces and selling them for 0.002 ETH

They plan to donate all the proceeds to projects that the community deems worthy.
I believe OPhoenix will have many more achievements up their sleeve given their high potential.
NFTs have endless possibilities, so creativity might be needed to create an impact.
A small additional thing worth mentioning:
The common reason for disqualification during reviews is the submission of duplicate claims. Artists or project owners, who usually have quite number of followers, should completely separate their personal work from their "NFT community" work.
If caught attempting to deceive badgeholders, your works will be disqualified and your efforts will go in vain.
