Omnisea - Case Studies
How we bootstrapped zkSync NFT EcosystemLooking at the NFT market data alone may not bring much optimism. The market has not even recovered a fraction of the interest it had two years ago. Billion-dollar weekly NFT trading volumes may remain a thing of the past for a while. The market needs more time to once again seriously consider investing in NFTs. Our permissionless Launchpad is a good place to observe the market sentiment, and we must admit that over the past few months, we have seen a r...

Phase Two of Omnisea V2 Testnet is now live and available for everyone at omnisea.tech. V2 Mainnet is scheduled for the 7th of July! Also, on that day, we’ll inform you about the date and details of the OMS launch.
During the first Phase of the Testnet, we received some really important feedback that we were able to shape into major improvements. But that’s not everything. With Phase Two we’re introducing a great number of significant new features for Creators and Minters. So, let’s now review what’s new.
ONFT Proxy is the official LayerZero standard for turning existing NFTs into ONFTs. Omnisea becomes the first platform to not only enable the ONFT creation, management, and minting via UI but from now on we also do the same with the ONFT Proxy standard. What does it mean for the NFT space? Nothing less than the ability to easily transfer any existing collection into Omnichain NFT powered by LayerZero in a few minutes.
How does it work? It’s all doable via our app. Go to the omnisea.tech/create, select the Settings tab, and within the first settings card (Collection Type) choose the ONFT Proxy. All you need to do is to provide 3 details there: the address of the existing ERC-721 (that you’re creating ONFT Proxy for), the collection metadata IPFS CID (contract-level metadata), and the IPFS CID of the Token URI (used for the token-level metadata). Why do we need this information? Because we want every ONFT to look the same (have the same metadata) on every chain. For instance, Token #1 should have the same file on every deployed blockchain.

After it’s done, just confirm the ONFT Proxy deployment transaction, and you’ll get your Proxy Page with 2 tabs available: Bridge Page for Holders and Settings for you (as the Creator) where you’re able to deploy your collection on more and more chains. If you have an existing collection on, for example, Optimism, it’s now possible to make it ONFT available on every chain.
To develop a stronger connection between our ecosystem and created ONFT Proxies, which we think can have a significant role in the process of unification of the whole NFT space, we’ll introduce a special and fixed OMS fee. OMS used for the ONFT Proxy creation will be automatically and immediately burned making the asset more scarce.

In the last few months, we’ve seen a large interest in launching a special type of Drop called Editions. These drops usually have an unlimited supply, limited and short mint time (eg. 48 hours) and the same artwork (file) assigned to every token. Editions are usually launched to celebrate an important moment for an artist/project or to deploy an NFT collection with a clear utility for Holders.
How to launch your own Edition? Just like with ONFT Proxy, when creating, go to the Settings tab → Collection Type, and choose Edition. As you’ll see, you can’t add NFTs because Edition contains the same file for each token (with unlimited supply). The square (cover) image you’ll use (the whole collection’s metadata in fact), will be applied to every token. Same file, name, description, royalty, unlimited supply, limited time. Perfect solution for tokens representing utility, governance, ticket, or a single piece of art that you want to share with more than one Collector.
To celebrate the Omnisea V2 Mainnet which is for us and our Community the biggest milestone since the beginning, as well as to showcase the capabilities of every key feature it combines - ONFT, Editions, Drop Scheduler, we’re launching the official limited Edition on the 7th of July! The details of this event, including the mint schedule, and the strong utility of this ONFT, will be revealed later today.

In general, we consider our Drop Scheduler (multi-stage Drops) as the biggest missing puzzle in the current (v1) Launchpad version. A lot of Creators have already appreciated what we offer right now, but we saw multiple inquiries regarding Drop’s customization option. So far Omnisea supported only 2 phases - Public mint, and an optional Whitelist (that could be edited at any time). The Public mint date and its price couldn’t be changed. Moreover, both the Public and WL phase always had the same (impossible to reset) mint counters resulting in the impossibility to treat the WL edit as the new phase (stage). Our advanced, yet simple to use, Drop Scheduler makes it a breeze to customize your Drop in ways previously not possible. Add an unlimited number of phases, each with its own dates, price, optional whitelisted addresses, and name. With the newest V2 upgrade, the Phases don’t have to be added chronologically. Now, stages can even overlap (happen in parallel) and every Phase can be easily edited at any time. Imagine a Drop with 4 Phases: WL Freemint, second WL with a price of 0.001 ETH, Public with a price of 0.005 ETH, and second Public with a price of 0.01 ETH. Each of these can happen one after another or simultaneously - it’s up to you.

By default, we help a Minter by choosing the first available Phase that is active (currently minting). But it’s very simple to click on the “Change Phase” button and see all the active and inactive stages - the whole Drop Scheduler, and click on the Phase that you’d like to use for your mint. If you’re eligible for 2 Phases, for example, a Whitelist free mint and Public with some price, you will be able to see your options and choose the best for you.
We took our time and listened to your feedback. The Home page is now cleaner, Explore section more modern, and the Profile page is now more customizable and nicer to view. In this regard, we’ll continue our work. We aspire to achieve even better results until the Mainnet launch on the 7th of July. The goal is to present the best-looking NFT Launchpad and introduce more advanced Explore options including filters, notable Drops view, and more.

Our testnet application at omnisea.tech is now cleared and available for participants. We encourage you to join and try, especially the new, abovementioned features such as ONFT Proxy, redesigned Drop Scheduler, Editions, and more! Later today we’ll share more news and from now on, we’ll prepare for the official V2 Mainnet launch on the 7th of July! Keep this date in your Web3 calendar 😉
