A feeling that is feared.
A feeling that is often quite near.
It is avoided like the plague.
An action like a child who is cautious of being bad.
Its presence like a dagger.
A dagger into the depths of the heart.
Its presence can make us waver.
Instead of closer,
We step further apart.
Upon the feeling’s onset,
Inside our soul can cringe.
A wish for means to waver
Onset as the feeling deepens.
It can feel just like a roadblock
Of which we cannot pass.
Our cycle now veers backwards
Avoidance wins the match.
