In the Mirror.
Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror? | Not only for a second or two | Have you looked with great focus | Into the purest, most whole part of you?

The Snow Globe.
What if defying the narrative I once believed is the ticket to the life and the possibilities that I have always imagined?

The Avenues.
What if she shifted her perspective? What if her vantage point were to change? What if the lessons she had learned were pivoted in her brain?

Some may see dust
Explain it as aged.
Some may think
Ew, what happened to you?
Some may ask
When last were you touched?
Did you ever stand bare
Was there always the rust?
Some may be intrigued
What is the story you hold?
How did you get to where you are
What moments stand bold?
Some may see a fence
Squares in form.
A barrier or holder
A glimpse of a greater being,
A piece that has more.
Some may see nothing of interest
A scene you pass by.
A photo that was clicked
To which they ask, why?
A reality of life
We all experience in our own ways.
We build our own interpretations
Of the life we live through our days.
Where some label good
Others may label bad.
Where some feel happy
Others may feel sad.
Where some may have clarity
Others may be confused.
Where some see beauty
Others may see nothing of amuse.
Can we turn to the internal
To our true feelings deep inside
And listen to them
As we navigate our lives?
If we see something profound
Where others see a scene that is bare
Can we dilute the chatter about the latter
And be present while we take in all that is there?
Can we turn our focus from the shoulds
From the dialogue of what some may
Set our sights on our experience
Dare to authentically live throughout our days?
The realities of what some may
Might always play a piece in the part.
Though some are not you
How they may, does not have to align with your heart.
