In the Mirror.
Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror? | Not only for a second or two | Have you looked with great focus | Into the purest, most whole part of you?

The Snow Globe.
What if defying the narrative I once believed is the ticket to the life and the possibilities that I have always imagined?

The Avenues.
What if she shifted her perspective? What if her vantage point were to change? What if the lessons she had learned were pivoted in her brain?

Positioned by the pond
Sat on the swing
Writing in my journal
Watching the wildflowers sway in the breeze.
A trail not far
Walkers pass by
A child in a wagon pulled by his mom
Says hi as his ride crosses my sight.
Relaxed and enjoying
Listening to the birds
Observing the flow of the water
Taking in the ambiance, seen and heard.
He passes again
Once more, a hi is received
He smiles ear to ear
Waves this time, too
As he engages with me.
The walking trail loop
Circles the pond
I am present in the moment
As his motion continues on.
I see a duck swim by
A few smaller ones follow suit
Head turned the other way,
I hear, “Ma’am, this is for you.”
Those flowers on the ground
That I had been admiring as they swayed in the wind
He picked one and handed it to me
A beautiful wildflower of which he was holding the stem.
A smile on my face
I said, “Thank you so much!”
Waved to his mom
My hand braced my heart.
“That was so sweet of you,
Thank you so much”
Happy as can be
As they walked away along the path
A moment, so pure
My heart so glad.
I strive to look for reminders
Moments and messages in life
Things from which I can learn
As my footsteps continue their stride.
I am so grateful to remember
Through occurrences such as today
Sometimes to find is not to look
But to live amongst the path in which our presence is placed.
Perhaps to find what we want
What we desire or need
Is not always to search for it or create
But to dwell in each moment, each day.
To be open to the existence
The surroundings
The possibilities along the way.
Perhaps moments will come
If we simply take on life’s path.

He passed by again
I had my flower in hand
He sat in his wagon
We exchanged goodbyes and a wave.
Children are so special
I am grateful to have learned from him today.
