We've been quiet here lately since we've been building the next chapter of Permaweb Journal. What started as a small side project to share ecosystem updates and longform content is now expanding into a full-on permaweb publication that not only covers Arweave and AO but leverages the latest tech and experiments with traditional media.
Here are a few updates:
No longer is the journal a static site hosted on Arweave. Now each post is a unique asset (atomic NFT), contributors have their own profiles connected to their Arweave wallets, and readers can leave comments on posts that are all hosted onchain.
The Portal platform is a decentralized CMS built on Arweave and AO. Permaweb Journal was one of the first projects to utilize this platform, with many more in development. This is a big step toward bringing social apps onto the permaweb and creating a true decentralized publishing community.
Last week at Arweave Day Asia, we showcased Issue 00 of the Permaweb Journal print. A 90-page, full-color magazine featuring articles from the builders behind the latest Arweave and AO tech.
Early supporters at Arweave Day Asia received their prints. More details on the public release will be shared in the coming weeks. Only 500 prints will be made, and each print comes with a proof of ownership atomic asset.
The ecosystem already has an abundance of daily and weekly news updates that cover everything much more in-depth than we can. Our focus going forward will be on longform essays, interviews, and technical blog posts.
I recommend checking out Arweave Today and Arweave Weekly newsletters, and following Taylor Lamprecht on X for daily ecosystem updates.
Follow @permawebjournal on X and bookmark permawebjournal.arweave.net to catch new articles, the Issue 00 drop, and everything we're building next.
Cheers,
