Welcome to our 33rd edition of the Artist Spotlight Series, where we highlight artists from different backgrounds, mediums, and blockchains.
This edition’s featured artists include:
Taehoon Park (3D Digital artist)
Ondrej Zunka (Digital Artist and Director)
Dirk Koy (Artist and Filmmaker)
Chris Labrooy (Artist and Designer)
Grif (Multidisciplinary Visual Artist)
Taehoon Park is a 3D artist and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, with a decade of experience in 3D art and a passion for creating realistic full CG sci-fi short films, animations, and artworks.
SHRINK is a hyperrealistic digital art installation that gives you a surreal feeling of the car shrinking unrealistically. The irrational proportion of the vehicle plays with perspective in this dazzling visual.
Ondrej Zunka is a London-based digital artist and creative director who uses an array of constantly evolving VFX and generative design tools in his workflow.
The speculative realities within his digital artworks investigate notions of surrealism and play with reality using a futuristic motif.
Autoelastic Superpositions One is an artwork from Ondrej’s ongoing explorations into physically based simulations on hard surface materials.
Dirk Koy is a filmmaker and motion graphics artist creating works that combine graphic design with video and animation, conveyed using various technologies such as 2D and 3D animation, photogrammetry, AR, and VR.
Shape Study 23 is part of Dirk’s Shape Studies series, digitally modifying objects and living beings in photographs and video recordings of places. He also explores shapes and the various ways they can be represented and perceived.
Chris Labrooy is an artist and designer based in Scotland who saw an opportunity to explore CGI as a creative medium where he could subvert and twist familiar everyday things into new typographic and sculptural forms.
His creative works live at the intersection of typography, architecture, product design, and visual art.
Stud is a looping video work from the Spun Sugar series, depicting a variety of classic automobiles in clean and vibrant auto washes. Chris also created this series with the primary goal of exploring art on home screens.
Shane Griffin, aka Grif, is a visual artist working across multiple disciplines and the founder of Grif Studio, an independent creative studio and art practice based in Brooklyn, New York.
Grif specializes in bespoke artwork, film direction for live-action, and animated content.
Going Green is part of the Equinox Collection, portraying an abandoned classic Porsche 911 in the desert that becomes overtaken by a wave of energy, re-imagining the steel shell as a fertile garden.
