It feels like the pressure is on, and just when we need to rise to the occasion, exhaustion sets in. This is fated for all of us from time to time; it cannot be avoided. The Book of Changes tells us that one who lets their spirit be broken by exhaustion certainly has no success.
Sometimes, all we can seek to do is to overcome a problem inwardly, in preparation to act outwardly at a more favourable time. Those who cultivate this inner approach to problem solving, without falling into melancholia or delusion about where the sense of oppression is coming from, separate themselves from others of weaker character.

The hexagram for this week is K’un, Oppression/Exhaustion.

Above: Tui, Lake
Below: K’an, Water
Oppression. Success. Perseverance. The great human brings about good fortune. No blame. When one has something to say, it is not believed.

This week, the Oracle gave specific guidance cautioning against seeking out adversity or oppressive circumstances that could be avoided if dealt with tactfully. Failing to do so is like “butting one’s head against a wall, and in consequence feeling oneself oppressed by the wall”.
The world has challenge and oppression enough without needing us to add to it. Those who choose to exist in this mindset will certainly be met with misfortune. Be mindful of this over the coming days, and know that the turbulence will dissipate as we move into September.
Blessings to you all.
