Happy Lunar New Year from myself and The Oracle 🧧
Around the world, many are celebrating as we usher in the year of the Wood Dragon. This week is a time to be with loved ones and family, as we look ahead to what is to come.
Youthful folly is the theme that the I Ching has given us today, and its timing seems apt. Stopping at the precipice of danger, without realising the full magnitude of the risk should one continue ahead in ignorance, is a characteristic of youth. Folly is an unavoidable part of life, however it must be balanced out by experience from without or within. Seek wisdom from teachers and elders as we forge ahead, they will see dangers coming that you may not. Heed their advice, as it will only be given once.

The hexagram for this week is Meng, Youthful Folly

The first line in change gives us an echo of the hexagram 41, Decrease. It gestures towards the value of discipline being used to balance out youthful folly. With Lunar New Year now behind us, 2024 begins in earnest.
