Weekly I Ching - August 27 2023
PreambleIt feels like the pressure is on, and just when we need to rise to the occasion, exhaustion sets in. This is fated for all of us from time to time; it cannot be avoided. The Book of Changes tells us that one who lets their spirit be broken by exhaustion certainly has no success. Sometimes, all we can seek to do is to overcome a problem inwardly, in preparation to act outwardly at a more favourable time. Those who cultivate this inner approach to problem solving, without falling into m...

Weekly I Ching - November 9 2025
SummaryThe reading for this week is favourable. Abundance comes naturally, and those who understand the responsibility that comes with it are best fitted to maintain it. Reach for your goals, trust the competency of friends, and enjoy this time of harmony. The I Ching specifically gives us the image of a wagon this week. My interpretation is thus: when preparing for a large task or journey, we must be ready to set out with the supplies needed to ensure success. The wagon can safely handle a h...

Weekly I Ching - September 10 2023
PreambleA new dawn is here. Any turbulence or remnant darkness clears as the sun rises over the Earth, beginning a new day. This situation as described in the I Ching denotes a window of easy progress, coupled with widening clarity. It also is reminiscent of a strong, obedient individual in service of a wise ruler. It is under these conditions that great progress is made. This is a welcome change after a few weeks of cautionary readings from the Oracle. Go gently into the brightening day.Orac...

There are times when we live among obstacles. Our lives feel oppressed by work, or the weather, or some set of conditions outside of our control. These periods are windows of psychological strain, where weaknesses come to the surface and energy is quickly drained. Fortunately these conditions do no last forever, and there comes a time when we are released from the pressure. The I Ching describes this as Deliverance, which denotes the release from tension.
If last week was an intense one, you can feel safe taking baby steps into the new week ahead. Conditions are more favourable. The end of the week will bring a good window for decision making and action if you want to take a more active approach to things... just make sure you’ve paused and done the recovery first.
1st: T,T,T > Changing Yin
2nd: T,T,H > Stable Yang
3rd: T,T,T > Changing Yin
4th: T,T,H > Stable Yang
5th: H,H,T > Stable Yin
6th: H,T,H > Stable Yin
The hexagram for this week is Hsieh, Deliverance.

Above: Chen, Thunder
Below: K’an, Water

Two lines in change give us hexagram 34 as an echo, which points towards feelings of inner power that some may feel within nearer the end of the week.
Blessings to you all.
