Weekly I Ching - August 27 2023
PreambleIt feels like the pressure is on, and just when we need to rise to the occasion, exhaustion sets in. This is fated for all of us from time to time; it cannot be avoided. The Book of Changes tells us that one who lets their spirit be broken by exhaustion certainly has no success. Sometimes, all we can seek to do is to overcome a problem inwardly, in preparation to act outwardly at a more favourable time. Those who cultivate this inner approach to problem solving, without falling into m...

Weekly I Ching - November 9 2025
SummaryThe reading for this week is favourable. Abundance comes naturally, and those who understand the responsibility that comes with it are best fitted to maintain it. Reach for your goals, trust the competency of friends, and enjoy this time of harmony. The I Ching specifically gives us the image of a wagon this week. My interpretation is thus: when preparing for a large task or journey, we must be ready to set out with the supplies needed to ensure success. The wagon can safely handle a h...

Weekly I Ching - September 10 2023
PreambleA new dawn is here. Any turbulence or remnant darkness clears as the sun rises over the Earth, beginning a new day. This situation as described in the I Ching denotes a window of easy progress, coupled with widening clarity. It also is reminiscent of a strong, obedient individual in service of a wise ruler. It is under these conditions that great progress is made. This is a welcome change after a few weeks of cautionary readings from the Oracle. Go gently into the brightening day.Orac...

We have arrived at another turning point for the year. Today the seasons change, and the rate of change itself, is at its highest. Days are getting shorter or longer, and the stability of Summer or Winter is quickly giving way to Spring and Autumn.
Tensions in the collective consciousness feel extremely strained. People seem very, very pessimistic. With that in mind, the I Ching gives us hexagram 46 as guidance for this week. It describes a plant pushing up through the Earth, denoting growth. Specifically, the books states “adapting itself to obstacles and bending around them, wood in the earth grows upward without haste and without rest”.
The key to success this week then is in patience and faith. Growth is assured, but can’t be rushed. Progress will be consistent, and it will adapt around the inevitable obstacles that do arise. Go with the flow, its OK to change course. Things are now on your side.
1st: H,H,T > Stable Yin
2nd: T,H,T > Stable Yang
3rd: T,T,H > Stable Yang
4th: H,H,T > Stable Yin
5th: H,H,T > Stable Yin
6th: T,H,H > Stable Yin
The hexagram for this week is Sheng, Pushing Upward.

Above: K’un, Earth
Below: Sun, Wind

No lines are in change this week. With today’s partial solar eclipse is behind us, a new moon, and the Equinox tomorrow, we are passing through a highly charged window.
Blessings to you all.
