This weekend felt like one of those reminders of why we build in the first place. The concert came together beautifully. Music moving through the metaverse, people showing up from all corners, artists sharing their energy. It had that loose, creative feeling where you can tell something real is happening, even if you can't fully measure it yet.
Today the rhythm shifts back into ZAO Fractal Monday.
For the past two weeks we’ve had 13 people show up to the call. Thirteen voices choosing to spend an hour thinking about governance, community, and how we build something that lasts. Tonight is Fractal 90. There’s a quiet curiosity in the air about who might walk through the door this time. Maybe it’s the same thirteen. Maybe a few new ones find their way in.
Either way, the work continues. The rooms we create matter. The consistency matters even more.
There’s a line I kept thinking about today from the “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff” reflection about practicing random acts of kindness. Not the kind you post about. The kind you do quietly. The kind where nobody knows it was you.
It reminds me that community doesn’t grow from grand gestures. It grows from small moments that ripple outward. A kind word. An introduction. Holding space for someone new in a call. Paying attention when someone else is speaking.
Those small acts compound. Just like showing up every Monday does.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can give a community is simple presence.
