Today’s reminder comes from The Four Agreements: “Be impeccable with your word.” That doesn’t just mean keeping promises to others — it also means cutting the self-talk that drips with blame and judgment. Being impeccable includes how you speak to yourself when you mess up.
We confuse accountability with self-punishment way too often. Taking responsibility isn’t about replaying the moment a hundred times. It’s not about naming every little thing you did wrong so you can feel bad enough to never do it again. That’s shame talking.
The real flex is learning without dragging yourself.
There’s power in owning your actions and moving forward without the baggage. Forgiveness isn't letting yourself off the hook — it’s clearing the path so you can keep walking.
No need to carry it all.
