ZM Happy Thursday,
Today’s lesson hit home harder than usual: “Allow Yourself to Be Bored.” For a brain that thrives on dopamine loops and multi-tab chaos, the idea of doing absolutely nothing might sound like a threat. But it’s not—it’s medicine.
This is one of my toughest challenges with ADHD. Stillness feels like stagnation. Silence? Like a missed opportunity for progress. But this chapter was a reminder that peace and productivity aren’t enemies—they're partners. And boredom isn’t the villain; it’s the gateway.
In a world where we refresh screens like it’s a sport and fill empty moments with endless scrolling, doing nothing might be the most radical act we can commit. It’s not about becoming lazy—it’s about restoring that mental RAM. Giving our minds the chance to breathe. Not plan. Not plot. Just pause.
So today, I’m working on that weakness. And if you see me staring out a window, no headphones in, just zoning—I promise, it’s not a bug. It’s a feature I’m trying to reinstall.
