Mindful Moments & Meditations
I pulled a card this morning that said, “See other people as they are.” That’s the second agreement: don’t take anything personally. It’s not sexy, but it’s liberating. Most reactions aimed at you aren’t actually about you—they’re about someone else’s fears, filters, and timelines. When I hold that frame, feedback stings less, conflict shrinks, and I get my energy back for the work that matters.
In community and in music, this principle is a cheat code. If an email is short, a comment is sideways, or a collaborator stalls, I remind myself: I’m not here to mind-read motives; I’m here to keep agreements with myself and keep building. See people clearly, not as the story I’ve invented about them. That clarity makes collaboration easier and protects the creative flow.
Tomorrow we’re live at 6 pm ET, and I’m bringing this mindset into the conversation. We’ll talk process, community, and how not taking things personally keeps the art pure and the mission moving. Pull up, ask questions, and meet our special guest: twitch.tv/ohnahji at 6 pm ET on Wednesdays. #ZAO
