ZM today’s reflection comes from Do Good Work by Tim Martinez — Part 1, “Becoming the Ultimate Asset.” It’s one of those chapters that reminds you: mastery isn’t just about output, it’s about alignment. Doing good work means showing up with purpose — leading, solving, and creating in ways that elevate everyone around you.
FreezeTheVerse said it best:
“It takes a certain type of person to be a problem solver, sacrificing your time and sharing knowledge for someone else’s benefit. Likewise it takes a certain type of person to lead. Determined, stubborn, and full of desire.
On both ends there can be bad actors out there, when choosing to help someone else you have to ask yourself does this person align with me? What will they do with this information? As wonderful as it is to help everyone in sight, it can come back to hurt just like it can help.
And that is just half the battle, once your people are found it’s time to become a sponge. Soaking up all their words, and pay attention to the things that are said without words. Create like them, share like them, fully understand the people around you and move as a whole unit instead of a group of individuals.”
That’s the essence of this season — alignment, awareness, and the courage to build with intention. Do Good Work doesn’t glamorize hustle; it honors integrity. The kind of consistency that compounds, the kind that turns individuals into a unified force.
