Hello dear friends.
June is a special month for us here at Tutti Cancer Warriors. It’s a time when we honor the lives of those who’ve fought cancer, uplift those still on their journey, and raise awareness around the health issues that often go unseen or unspoken.
This month brings together powerful causes — and we wanted to share them with you in case you or someone you love needs this knowledge, this nudge, or simply this reminder: you are not alone.
This day is a powerful reminder that life after cancer is still life: beautiful, complicated, worth celebrating.
On the first Sunday of June, people around the world come together to honor cancer survivors — not just for surviving, but for living. For showing up. For rebuilding. For dreaming again, even after everything.
To every cancer survivor out there: you deserve to be celebrated not just today, but every single day. Don’t let this awareness day be the only time we recognise your strength. Whether your journey was loud or quiet, long or still unfolding — your life matters, your story matters, and we see you.
You are a warrior. And we are all better because of you.
Imagine your own immune system — the same one that fights off colds and infections — being trained to recognise and destroy cancer cells. That’s what immunotherapy does. And for many people with advanced or aggressive cancers, it’s offering hope where there was once none.
Unlike traditional treatments like chemo or radiation, immunotherapy works by helping the body identify cancer as the enemy — and fight it naturally. Treatments like checkpoint inhibitors, CAR T-cell therapy, and cancer vaccines are already showing success in cancers like lung, bladder, melanoma, and some types of leukemia and lymphoma.
For example:
Checkpoint inhibitors block the “off switch” some cancer cells use to hide from immune cells. Once that switch is blocked, the immune system can see the cancer clearly — and attack it.
CAR T-cell therapy, on the other hand, involves taking a patient’s own immune cells, reprogramming them in a lab to target cancer, and putting them back in the body. It’s personalised, powerful, and still evolving.
This June, we honor not only the breakthroughs in science, but also the patients who’ve joined clinical trials, the researchers working behind the scenes, and the doctors who believe healing doesn’t stop at hope — it starts with it.
June 14 is #Immune2Cancer Day, a moment to raise awareness, support research, and remind the world that the future of cancer care is not just in medicine — it’s in our own immune systems.
We believe in the science. We believe in the warriors. And we believe that everyone deserves access to treatments that offer real chances at life.
Uterine (endometrial) cancer is the most commonly diagnosed gynecologic cancer, but it remains dangerously overlooked.
Each year, over 400,000 people globally receive a uterine cancer diagnosis. Yet for too many, it comes late — not because the signs weren’t there, but because no one listened.
Here’s the reality:
Studies show many patients wait years for a correct diagnosis.
Some are misdiagnosed with hormonal imbalance, stress, or perimenopause — especially if they’re under 40.
Black women are nearly twice as likely to die from uterine cancer than white women — largely due to delayed diagnosis and systemic disparities in care.
10–15% of cases are in women under 50 — proving it’s not just a post-menopause disease.
Common symptoms that are too often ignored:
Abnormal bleeding — between periods, after sex, or post-menopause
Pelvic pressure or pain
Sudden bloating or feeling full
Vaginal discharge that’s unusual for you
In a UK survey, over 50% of women waited more than a year to get a diagnosis after first reporting symptoms. In many cases, patients had to insist on further testing themselves.
This month, we’re standing beside organizations like Womb Cancer Support UK, Peaches Trust, and community advocates calling for:
Faster referrals to gynecologic specialists
More training for GPs to recognise signs
Better racial equity in women’s health
Education around early symptoms
Early detection saves lives.
But to detect early — people need to be heard, believed, and given access to care.
To every person who’s spoken up, been ignored, pushed forward, and fought for answers: You are not alone. You are not invisible. You deserve answers — and action.
Raise the purple ribbon this month. Share the facts. Listen when someone says, “Something feels off.” Because awareness without action… isn’t enough!
It’s time we talk about men’s health, openly, honestly, and without shame.
Men are often told to “tough it out,” but the truth is: ignoring symptoms doesn’t make you strong — facing them does.
This month is dedicated to raising awareness around the health challenges men face, especially when it comes to cancer:
🔹 Prostate Cancer – the second most common cancer in men worldwide
Early stages often have no symptoms. That’s why routine PSA screenings (Prostate-Specific Antigen) are crucial — especially for men over 50 or those with a family history.
🔹 Testicular Cancer – most common in younger men aged 15–35
Self-exams once a month can detect lumps or changes early, when the cancer is most treatable.
🔹 Colorectal Cancer – a rising concern in men under 50
Persistent changes in bowel habits, bleeding, or abdominal pain should never be ignored.
🔹 Lung Cancer – often linked to smoking, but not always
Persistent cough, chest pain, or shortness of breath? Time to see a doctor.
🔹 Skin Cancer (Melanoma) – more likely to be diagnosed late in men
Regular skin checks can prevent late-stage diagnosis — especially for those who work or spend lots of time outdoors.
June 13 is Wear Blue Day — a visual show of support and a great excuse to start a conversation.
If you have a dad, brother, partner, son, friend, or co-worker — check in with them. Ask how they’re doing. Encourage a doctor visit. Sometimes, a single conversation can save a life.
And if you are that man — we see you. You matter. Your health matters. Your life matters.
June reminds us that survivorship is a journey. That research matters. That early detection saves lives. That health belongs to everyone. And that compassion — always — leads the way.
We love keeping things engaging around here — so this week, we created something special for you: A new crossword puzzle, inspired by awareness, facts. Read the brain tumor edition to solve this puzzle.
Whether you’re a warrior, a supporter, or just curious to learn more, this one’s for you.
Challenge yourself, learn something new, and maybe even turn it into a little moment shared with someone you love.
Because knowledge is power — and fun is part of the healing too.
Once you solve it, tag us on X- @NGOTCW or IG @tutticancerwarriors and we might repost your brilliance.
Thank you for walking this journey with us.
With love & energy for tutti
