Julien couldn't be with us, but we have some great news either way:
Julien has greenlit most of my pending feature requests on GitHub—customizable event backgrounds, a potential font picker, and maybe, just maybe, even animated backgrounds (yes, floating pizzas included). These upgrades are expected to roll out soon.
Leadership Transition
This is my last month in the role of Lead Steward, since the role naturally dissolves after 12 months. I think we have reached a great time to decentralize further and move from one "head honcho" (as my friend Bubby would say) to a steward council. This is an important milestone that I am very much looking forward to, and I hope you will join us in celebrating it!
Octant Epoch 8 Grant Application
We have handed in our application for the Octant Epoch 8 grant, with all application materials shared internally (Charmverse) to streamline future submissions. This was a very intense application, and I highly recommend applying what I learned in the process to other grant applications. More grant opportunities are being tracked and summarized for the DAO in our Charmverse-based CRM.
Charmverse Paid Membership
As you guys know, Charmverse is now a paid application that can be purchased with DEV tokens. For now, I am subsidizing this subscription, but eventually the DAO will need to take over that cost! We are currently subscribed to the silver tier, which costs 2500 DEV tokens per month.
Ambassador Program
Trigs has made significant progress on the Ambassador Program, continuing with a structured educational system. I was able to review and comment on the program yesterday evening, and I am excited for it to go live in three phases. We will begin with a small test bubble while building all the necessary resources for the program. The goal is to recognize and empower contributors at every level, providing ambassadors with guidance so they can truly fulfill their role. This also marks the time when I will support Trigs in submitting his application for Steward of Member Relations & Governance.
RachelOnchain features Unlock on @buildonbase
Community member RachelOnchain has been going full gear on her own venture, Onchain Media, and will generously feature Unlock Protocol this Thursday on the @buildonbase account on Twitter. This account is massive, boasting approximately 500,000 followers and a few thousand viewers during some of their livestreams. Scout Game Collaboration
Thanks to Ceci, Chris Carella from Charmverse, and Scout Game, we joined forces to explore a partnership that would bring more targeted incentives to our builders and GitHub repository. A dedicated Discord thread will coordinate next steps, budget allocation, and bounty prioritization.
BlockChain Developer Festival x Ticketdaddy x Unlock
David Lumala and his team, who are organizing the next Blockchain Developer Festival in Kampala, joined the DAO Call yesterday to present their expansion plans to the DAO. A dedicated thread has been created for a discussion about a potential grant and the expectations of the DAO.
Proof of Personhood Hook
The DAO appreciates the idea of another possible integration with Cubid to provide more flexibility to creators and organizers on our protocol regarding the verification of human credentials. Kaz gave a short presentation on Cubid itself, and we are expecting to understand the next steps from a developer perspective, coming soon from Julien.
Steward for Finances & Resources Renewal Proposal
David Moderator has published his renewal proposition for the role of Steward for Finances & Resources. Please share your comments, if any, in this forum thread before the proposal is posted onchain soon.
Budget Proposal and Dune Tracking
David Moderator is working on the final implementations for the next two-quarter budget proposal. Additionally, he has suggested building a budget tracking tool for the DAO using Dune Analytics, which will provide greater transparency and improved oversight.
Ninja Promo x Unlock
Ceci, our Steward for Marketing & Communications, has been working closely with our Ninja Promo project manager, Helge, and social media wizard, Nadya, on the first static posts. Currently, there is still a lot of back and forth to get everything right. Nonetheless, Jonathan, Ceci, and I have been actively working together (off Unlock Discord) to have all our socials populated!
CommunityOne Proposal
Louisa worked on the proposal to add the CommunityOne bot to our Discord. I have uploaded the proposal to our Tally voting platform. Make sure to vote once it goes live!
