Welcome to another week of momentum and impact! As we continue to shape the future of our DAO, your participation, insights, and energy are what keep us unlocking new possibilities together. Here’s what’s been happening during our call last week:
As per usual, Julien provided us with updates and news:
The team resolved several bugs, including issues with event collection page links, credit card currency settings, and IPFS metadata hosting. Event collections are now easier to access, and NFT metadata is reliably served via IPFS.io.
Migration from Netlify to Cloudflare is nearly complete, resulting in improved reliability and cost efficiency.
Discussions are underway to ensure that protocol fees flow directly to the DAO on Base, with implementation set to begin next week.
Legal reviews are nearing completion for Unlock Labs' token distribution to investors, featuring a one-year cliff and a three-year vesting schedule.
Role Proposals
Active proposals for steward roles are currently being debated via Discord—community input is encouraged to define responsibilities and expectations for operations, coordination, and liaison engineering.
Charmverse Negotiations & Troubleshooting
We encountered a few issues with our Charmverse space during the upgrade process, but hopefully, they will be resolved soon. The idea is that if we utilize Scout Game, we might secure a grant by upgrading from a Silver Tier to a Gold Tier subscription, which would be great! Stay tuned for this!
Scout Game x DSC x Burner x Unlock
The partnership with Digital Spenders Club and Burner.pro is progressing, aiming to fund and develop an open-source, web-based verifier app for Unlock memberships. Developer input on budgeting is the current hold-up. After that has been clarified, we can push out a proposal on Tally for a pool on Scout Game.
Bounty Program x Scout Game
Twenty-five active bounties are available on Unlock GitHub; members are encouraged to suggest new features or improvements via GitHub or Discord for our upcoming collaboration with Scout Game.
Role NFT Designs
As announced last week, Leah Sams delivered her final role design artworks. Thanks to the modular structure she created, we will be able to create a dual mint: For role and access control, we will mint each role via Hats Protocol while minting the classic membership NFT through the Unlock Protocol. The last one is meant as a momentum of the receiver's onchain history and to be used on social accounts as PFPs.
Governance Process
The Steward Council is set to manage multi-signature wallets for faster and more reliable DAO transactions. A discussion thread has been created, and the proposal will be uploaded soon.
Ambassador Resources
Trigs has been working hard for the Unlock Ambassador Program. At the same time, I began working on the DAO Guidelines, of which Ambassador Resources (including prepped presentations and more) is a part. Stay tuned for updates!
Grow Edge Accelerator
Kara Howard joined us to provide a short update on the 10-week growth and education program she is launching, with Unlock-powered certifications for participants and a focus on ecosystem integration.
Budget Q2/Q3 Vote
The upcoming two-month budget proposal has been posted—members are urged to vote and engage with the proposed budgets, sharing their ideas on how to distribute them best.
Grant Outcomes
Two grant applications (Octant Epoch 8 and Arbitrum DAO) were declined. The team is analyzing feedback and considering new, more targeted campaign proposals specifically for the Arbitrum DAO, in preparation for the second milestone.
ApeBond Campaign
Despite limited success, the team has reached out to me, and we are currently debating and updating a proposal with concrete plans to drive this campaign to success!
Ecosystem Adoption Push
Efforts continue to encourage established protocols (like Avalanche and Base) and projects (Mother.ai and Lido) to adopt Unlock for their official events and certifications, aiming to drive broader protocol usage. Kara Howard and Anupa Dasgupta lead these initiatives independently.
Content & Outreach
Regular social media activity and a new video challenge are underway—community suggestions for content are always welcome, such as the one from the incredible DAO Cabin Crew Soho. Our video challenge is still on, check the link below in the weekly actions items.
Documentation & Education
As I work on the DAO Guidelines, our documentation will also require some substantial updates. More on this next week!
