With the DAO’s approval of PIP-71, the community voted to sponsor Velora’s presence at Devconnect Argentina Governance Day through the “Gold Tier” option. The $4,000 investment positions Velora among the leading governance organizations globally, providing panel speaking opportunities, booth presence, and strategic networking at what has become the premier DAO governance event, with over 1,200 registrants expected based on 2024's Bangkok success.
Following a community discussion and proposal initiated by Curia in September, the Gold Tier sponsorship places Velora alongside established governance leaders at the 4th edition of Governance Day, scheduled for November 15th-16th at the Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina (UCA). The event, co-organized by SEEDGov and Curia Lab, has evolved from a side event to a cornerstone gathering that attracted over 200 active participants and 30 speakers at Devcon SEA in Bangkok.
The community discussed the viability of different packages, and the Gold Tier option was chosen as the most cost-effective, yet valuable, way to proceed. It boosts Velora’s visibility and opportunities for engagement (e.g. logo placement across all event materials, a dedicated booth for direct community interaction, and most importantly, a panel slot on Day 1 allowing Velora representatives to share insights on the protocol's governance innovations and recent developments), without accumulating any unnecessary costs of a higher tier.
Governance Day 2025 splits into two tracks:
Day 1 - Main Conference: Public-facing talks and panels targeting the broader Web3 community, where Velora's panel participation will occur. This day expects 300-400 attendees, providing exposure for Velora's governance innovations and protocol updates.
Day 2 - Research Track: Academic workshops and study groups for advanced governance practitioners. The sponsorship maintains visibility on Day 2 through branding, but this research-focused day offers no direct speaking slots. It instead focuses on facilitating deeper connections with governance researchers and contributors.
Velora’s participation in Governance Day goes beyond simple event presence, it’s a strategic step toward building a regional foundation for DAO governance innovation in Latin America.
The region has become one of the fastest-growing ecosystems for Web3 experimentation, with vibrant DAO communities, strong local node initiatives, and an expanding network of builders and researchers committed to exploring new models of decentralized coordination. Argentina, in particular, stands out as a hub of experimentation in crypto economics and participatory governance, making it a symbolic and strategic location for Velora’s first major presence in the region.
Through Governance Day, Velora will not only showcase its protocol’s governance evolution but also connect directly with Latin American DAO builders, universities, and policy innovators who are shaping the next generation of on-chain coordination. The aim is to bridge governance theory and practice, positioning Velora as both a technical and cultural reference in the DAO space.
This presence will also serve as a catalyst for future initiatives in the region, from governance-focused partnerships and educational activations, to localized pilot programs exploring new participation models within VeloraDAO.
Community members attending the event this year can connect at the Velora booth, visit the panel discussion, and network within the broader DAO ecosystem.
