Aave Proposal; [ARC] Add MaticX to Polygon v3 Market
Stader proposes incorporating MaticX into the Aave v3 Polygon market as collateral. Here are several factors that make Matic X a valuable addition to the Aave v3 Polygon market:
Staderlabs, a multi-chain staking infrastructure provider with around 900 million dollars in assets and more than 40.000 users staking with us across Terra, Polygon, Fantom, and Hedera, produced MaticX. The user's assets that have been staked and earned incentives are represented by the ERC20 token MaticX. As staking rewards accumulate, Matic X becomes more valuable in comparison to Matic.
The authors of this proposal believe that MaticX will be a great addition to the Aave v3 Polygon markets since it will open up a number of borrowing use cases, such as leveraged staking, and borrowing other assets using MaticX, and possibly a number of DeGen tactics.
The goal of Stader's selection of validators is to maximize staking returns for delegators and promote the decentralization of Polygon. As the authors connect with more ecosystem partners and also raise overall staking involvement in Polygon, the authors anticipate that demand for MaticX will continue to expand (currently only 14,000 wallets of a total of 140m active wallets stake on Polygon). One of the first protocols to provide meaningful loan options for MaticX would be Aave, which would attract a sizable portion of the Matic community.
Aave Discussion; ARC: Aave V3 Retroactive Funding
Following the Aave Protocol's successful launch of V3, this Aave Request for Comment (ARC) aims to validate a governance proposal to the Aave DAO that asks for backdated funding for the creation and implementation of V3 by the Aave Companies.
Based on suggestions from the community, Aave V3 added improved features to the Aave Protocol, addressing V2's flaws while also introducing significant new capabilities, strengthening the Aave ecosystem as a whole.
Important new features include:
New modes, like the High-Efficiency Mode and Isolation Mode, reduce protocol hazards while allowing for higher capital efficiency.
Risk management improvements using risk caps and other tools to provide the protocol more security.
Features exclusive to L2 that enhance reliability and user experience.
A portal that enables smooth asset transfer between Aave V3 markets over various networks
To retroactively fund the creation of V3, the authors suggest that the Aave DAO remit $15 million (incurred work) and $1.6 million (audit) to the Aave Companies. The work that has been done by the Aave Companies over the course of more than a year is covered by this financing request.
Balancer Discussion; [BIP-XX] Allocate BAL Liquidity to Aave
The author believes it would be wise for treasury management to increase liquidity in Aave markets on Ethereum & Polygon, similar to how BIP-3 is distributing liquidity to Multichain.
Given the length of the deployments of the smart contracts, this liquidity would also have the added benefit of yielding Aave, which might contribute to treasury diversification over the long term with very little risk.
The Treasury is currently sitting at roughly 5.4 million BAL in idle status; I believe a range should be chosen here to determine what makes the most sense. A certain quantity would then be distributed to both marketplaces on Ethereum and Polygon.
Balancer Discussion; Balancer <> Across Protocol for Bridging Tokens Across Chains
In order to facilitate quick, inexpensive, and secure bridging across Ethereum, Arbitrum, Polygon, and Optimism via the Across Protocol, this proposal advises that Balancer Treasury use 40,000 BAL.
Balancer is currently using Multichain for Bridging assets across chains. BAL tokens are becoming stranded in destination chains as a result of bridging flows in Multichain's design, making it difficult for users to go back and forth between L1 and L2 and between L2s.
The author advises Balancer Treasury to fund an Across BAL LP with 40,000 BAL in order to set up bridging on Across.
