Mahadev is a Hindu god and is considered to be the supreme god within Shaivism, one of the major traditions within Hinduism. He is also known as Lord Shiva, the destroyer, and is revered for his destructive power as well as for his role as a regenerator. Mahadev is often depicted with a trident, a third eye on his forehead, and a snake around his neck. He is regarded as a symbol of pure consciousness, truth, and eternal existence.
