Hopping into bed at 7am after a looong dev day to wrap on some much needed QoL and UX updates on imgnAI. Adding to the larger update we recently dropped, this one is more of a catch-all with lots of improvements & optimizations just about everywhere! Time to get some beauty sleep, enjoy ‘dem updates 🫶

I have this weird feeling in my bones that PoW is going to be more relevant next cycle. Airdrops became a solved/failed game this cycle, farmers and slop merchants destroyed any value there used to be in it. Stuff like Zora and pumpfun ruined entry barriers, letting every grifter and ragebait merchant rug their audiences with zero effort. Ethereum FUD point all cycle has been the move to PoS - not saying I agree with it at all, but it's added to a small, yet noticeable storm. Reject modernity, embrace tradition. ..so, we're all going all-in on litecoin next cycle rite? 💀

A couple of QoL updates are now live on imgnAI! - Your local reference image uploads will now persist in your history (only from your browser cache - we don't store them!) - Editing an old gen also now (properly) remembers multiple images used as references! - Improved the handling on our rich prompts with tagging & color selection wheels across all browsers - Optimizations on image processing, expect faster gen times with reference uploads! Long few days of regression testing, but imgnAI's largest update in a long time has just silently gone live. More of a full announce tomorrow, but we've overhauled a lot of our ux/ui (and greatly expanded our feature set!) More coming. I want to make this the best consumer-facing ux for gen content on the planet.

So this should've went live yesterday but instead I stayed up all night to finish lengthy regression testing and bug fixing It is now in the hands of the wider imgn team to do a final sweep of user testing, and I'll roll it out when I'm back awake and have their sign-off ✌️

Correction: launching tomorrow because I'm bout to fall down asleep and there's still some regression testing to do But it's looking awesome. Gunna be the biggest frontend update to imgnAI in while!

Said recently I'd begun work on the frontend stack for imgnAI, as I felt it's somewhere we've been lacking strength for a while. This is the new generate system I've been working on; including multi-image reference, direct image tagging, extended history selection, auto-res, and more! Launching today! 🥳

Gotten much more hands-on with the fuller /imgn stack recently, especially on frontend to start speeding up integrations of new builds on the backend. Going to start getting much more visible this week with an upcoming rollout. Lots and lots of stuff in the works.

I still laugh a bit when I think about how basenames wound up being DOA. Launched out of nowhere and costing near-nothing. No priority given to ENS holders or fNames. So every grifter purchased dozens/hundreds of basenames to squat & try extort from actual users who wanted them. End result being grifters holding the bag with a bunch of worthless basenames, and basenames themselves becoming synonymous with scammers and spammers (partly in thanks to content coins being linked to them). I really hope Base have learned from the mistakes of Zora, BaseApp, and BaseNames, but man. It's like nobody who uses crypto actually works at the company.
