The View From Here
steel breathes under my vans
a crane holds me over ten stories of quiet
it's the night sky twinkling above
the celebration is below
the city counts down without counting me
no one knows i am even here
no one know if i go
what if i slip and fall?
I ask the dark, "what comes after the noise?"
the wind answers by not answering
the view from here is...
...a concrete sidewalk

The View From Here A verse drawn from within, that went from breath to paper. WARNING! This is a dark poem. And if you or someone you know may be struggling with depression or suicide there is hope. I promise and there is always a way.

I do love it!! It’s been a while since I shared my poems… 🙃🖤
Thanks so much, maybe you should share. @janicka really encourage me to share one of my poems that I wrote on NYE, and it kind of sparked me wanting to post more.
oh I’m so happy to hear this 💜💜
Yeah, just found one 😅 She’s adorable 🤌🏻 I was also encouraged once to share my poems hete, but I didn't really want to because it seemed too personal, and then I realised that it's the same art form as when I pour my soul into my drawings. The same thing happens with words, only words are probably more specific, although drawings are too, well, you know what I mean…. 🫠
This feels honest and brave , turning something heavy into words takes real strength, and it matters.
thanks so much for the feedback. I appreciate that. Yeah, I agree. It is hard to take something heavy and turn it into words. It's hard to take struggles that everyone goes through at some point in time and talk about it. It can be scary for many reasons. But someone has to do it, it is a part of life. And to ignore the "ugly" only causes more hurt in the long run
Absolutely, you’re spot on. It takes courage to put those heavy, universal experiences into words, and doing so can be healing, not just for yourself, but for anyone who reads it and feels seen. Facing the hard parts of life honestly is how real connection and understanding happen.
From a rooftop, a solitary observer notes steel, a crane, and ten stories of quiet beneath a twinkling night sky as the city counts down in silence. Questions about what follows the noise linger, with the ending settling on a concrete sidewalk. The View From Here by @serenussage
