Twenty Twenty....It Doesn’t Matter
new year’s eve
and the streets are loud without me
lights spill out of bars
like they forgot to invite someone
music thumps through walls
meant for everyone else
walking past laughing mouths
counting down
counting drinks
counting each other
no one looks long enough
to notice i’m here
or maybe they do
and decide i’m just part of the cold
i move through shoulders
through noise
through smoke and glitter
like i’m already gone
a ghost with hands in his pockets
waiting for midnight
to pass straight through him
into the new

Milibooo said it best. I felt like I was standing there watching you from across the room
Twenty Twenty....It Doesn’t Matter A poem I posted because @janicka asked me to. This is the one that started me sharing my writing! Enjoy it please, and as always feedback and sharing is always appreciated!
100000 🙏🏼
thanks so much for the love!
Gentle, lonely, and strangely comforting . It almost feels like standing right there with you . I can see why @janicka asked you to share this . It’s beautiful ✨💞 42000 🙏🏻
I love to mix in a few different elements into my writing! 1. I take my personal feelings and experiences 2. I look at my environment and see what they would feel in a situation 3. I play a few different scenarios out in my head that allow me to choose where I want to go with it. You know, what's the vibe? The end goal is to always get the reader on board and to feel the pain, love, excitement, fear etc. So thank you for recognizing that.
Yeah i can relate cos i love pairing my photography with poems / stories that i write too
ahh so happy to see this 🥹💜 wonderful poem, so moving!! Please share more with us @serenussage 🫶 Mili and I will appreciate it very much 💕✨
you got it. I have an entire book of stuff I have written. Maybe I should find a way to publish it!
There is a sense of loneliness here... but it does not seem to be a bitter loneliness, rather a desirable one... or at least that is what I would like to believe...
It is a combination of both. It is loneliness, both desired and undesired. Undesired because he wants to enjoy it the festivities but no one notices him, he is by himself, he is afraid to go and just make friends with strangers because they all seem to be accounted for. If he only had his own person to enjoy them with then things would be different. Desired because he is okay with the cold bitter weather because it reminds him of the cold bitter truth that this is his reality. To be alone and by himself. No one really care because if they did when he moved through shoulders wouldn't someone say something, like oh my bad, or hey i am sorry. they move on like he isn't there, because no one cares. So it is what is desired. I love your assessment of this
😍✨🖤
@serenussage frames a New Year's Eve poem where crowds glow yet an unseen presence moves through the noise. Lights spill, music booms, and a ghost with hands in pockets awaits midnight to enter the new year.
thanks for the love!
