Smokedope2016: Mysterious, Alluring World of 2016

Smokedope2016 is a mysterious Virginia-born-and-raised producer who has made a name for himself within the underground music scene in no time, taking listeners all over the world back into the good ol' days. And genius, if you ask me. Nostalgia has never sounded this way before, as his musical, but also visual aesthetics, takes so much from the cloud rap era and amplifies it to a maximum. His music is characterized by a foggy-even smoky-stoned vibe and a slow tempo. It is a rather deep listen that creates an immersive atmosphere and has helped him gather a number of followers in a short amount of time in the game. Smokedope2016 releases rather frequently, so there's much material to get into. Notable projects such as "THE COMEUP" and "2016" showcase his signature blend of oppressive beats and introspective lyrics, placing him among the ranks of other notable artists such as Black Kray, Acid Souljah, and Shed Theory, who have also worked with ambient themes within cloud rap. Of his more recent work, I love his latest single "Icey Soles," which is downright sensual-easily the most sensual of his songs to date-but somehow coldly detached.
