Announcing the Farcaster Builder Bootcamp: Funding the Future of Mini-Apps & African Innovation
⚠️ Update (Sept 1, 2025): We have decided to pivot the Farcaster Builder Bootcamp into the We Them Media: Content Creator Bootcamp (MVP). Instead of building new apps, this new structure centers creators as the drivers of adoption — experimenting with mini-apps, telling stories, and amplifying culture. 👉 The new start date is TBD (timeline will be shared by the end of September). In the meantime, we’re putting our energy into internal restructuring and covering ETH Safari & ETH Accra over th...

ETH Denver 2024: A Milestone Project
What is We Them Media? We Them Media is a collective of talented creatives across the globe, on a mission to communicate the viability of blockchain technology as a tool to expand the agency of Black communities to have a new level of control over our economies, culture, and ideas. We create a much-needed safe space for BIPOC folks to familiarize themselves with Web3 and learn how they can contribute to the ecosystem while remaining in a supportive and inclusive community. For those already i...

October 2024 Update
I’ve been diving deeper into my writing lately, and I’m excited to lean further into it over the next few months. This coming week on the 11th, I’ll be traveling to Japan, where I’ll be until the first week of November. From there, I’ll head to Chiang Mai, and then to Bangkok for Devcon.
During these travels, I’m holding myself accountable to writing 1 hour a week to reflect on my experiences, what’s inspiring me, and of course, what’s happening with We Them Media.
Looking Back: Web3 Events in September
This past month was packed with Web3 events. I had the pleasure of attending three, two of which were organized by Black leaders in the space: the Black Blockchain Summit at Howard University and the Root 2 Fruit Festival, organized by 4Bidden 4ruit. I wrapped up the month at M Con in Detroit, where I connected with RareBandy, a Black Detroit native with a history of experimentation in the NFT scene. We met serendipitously when Snax and I crashed a brand launch party in the city!
M Con was an incredible experience. It allowed me to connect with individuals who are heavily involved in DAO experimentation. I even had the chance to participate in the Battle of the Brews Pitch Competition hosted by Decent. While I didn’t win, it was a powerful moment to share my vision for We Them Media and how I see it evolving into a DAO. I’ll be minting the recording of my pitch this week, and once it’s ready, I’ll link it here so you can check it out!
DAO Experiments: The Future of We Them Media
I’m excited to say that We Them Media is making significant progress towards running DAO experiments. M Con provided me with a lot of valuable feedback, and I’ve connected with several people who I can turn to for guidance as we move in this direction.
I’m also in the process of finalizing a script for the interviews we created in partnership with Creative Alchemy. Once that’s complete, Kosbaar will lead the post-production efforts on these interviews, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
Launching a New Podcast: We Them
In other exciting news, I’ll be launching We Them, my second podcast. This one will feature guests who aren’t Black, or those who are Black but would prefer not to be featured on We Them Niggas. The idea for this podcast came from listening to feedback from the community and finding a way to engage with thought leaders from all walks of life while continuing to highlight exceptional Black voices. I’m looking forward to creating content for We Them while traveling through Asia over the next few months.
I hope to come home with interviews from people pushing Web3 in new directions from all over the world, especially those based in Southeast Asia, with use cases I haven’t yet encountered. Additionally, I’m eager to learn more about these countries, their citizens, and their societies during my journey.
What’s Next?
There’s a lot happening in Thailand while I’m there, and I plan to write a detailed piece each week on my favorite experiences, with photos and videos to accompany the stories. I’m also hoping to participate in some of the pop-up cities happening in the area. While some of this content might take a while to fully come out, I’m always thinking about the next steps for We Them Media.
I truly appreciate your patience and support as I continue to work on this project. There’s so much in the works, and I can’t wait to share more updates with you soon!
