I first discovered SheFi during Octant’s Epoch 9, where it was selected as one of the featured projects.
Among so many initiatives trying to make a real impact, SheFi stood out to me for its clarity of purpose: to educate, connect, and empower women in Web3.
At the top of the organization’s website, a phrase repeats like a mantra: “The frontier is feminine.”
It perfectly captures the spirit of one of the most relevant education and inclusion initiatives in the Web3 space today, a community that, since 2020, has been helping thousands of women and non-binary people find their place in a world still largely dominated by men.
Founded by Maggie Love, entrepreneur and educator with experience in blockchain and venture investing, SheFi was created to tackle a persistent issue: the lack of diversity in the decentralized revolution.
While Web3 promises freedom, autonomy, and equal participation, technical and cultural barriers still keep many people out.
SheFi exists to change that.
SheFi describes itself as “an 8-week program to master Web3, reinvent your career, and help shape the future of decentralized finance.”
Structured almost like a mini-MBA, it combines live and recorded classes, product demos, challenges (quests), and mentorship sessions, creating an immersive, accessible learning experience.
The goal is simple yet ambitious: to make complex concepts, from smart contracts and DAOs to NFTs, DeFi, stablecoins, and staking, understandable and applicable.
Participants learn both the theory and the hands-on skills to navigate and use decentralized tools in real life.
The program is built around three main pillars:
Education: live and recorded sessions in approachable language.
Experimentation: product demos, step-by-step guides, and practical quests.
Community: a global network of more than 22,000 members across 90+ countries, with over 70 hours of content.
This combination makes learning more dynamic and more human.
Instead of relying on the competitive, individualistic models often found in tech education, SheFi builds a culture of collaboration, empathy, and psychological safety, essential ingredients for anyone exploring new territory.
The results speak for themselves. On the official site, dozens of testimonials show how SheFi has changed careers and lives.
One graduate calls it “an MBA in blockchain,” saying the experience validated her credentials and opened new doors in the industry.
Another shared that after receiving a scholarship, she completely transitioned careers, leveraging her previous background and newly acquired Web3 skills to join the RARI Foundation.
Many also emphasize the emotional side of the experience.
“I'm so thankful to SheFi for creating a space that endorses patience, empathy, and emotional and psychological safety while empowering us to stay curious and fight for equitable and inclusive experiences for all who navigate the digital realm.,” writes Annie Pressman, another participant.
These stories reflect SheFi’s core purpose: to educate through empowerment.
More than teaching technology, it equips women with the confidence, vocabulary, and financial literacy to not only understand the system, but to help lead it.
Since its founding, SheFi has completed 14 cohorts and built a network of 70+ regional chapter leaders.
Its community spans 98 countries, with strong online presence, @SheFiOrg on X, and over 15,000 newsletter subscribers.
It’s no longer just a course. It’s a global movement.
The organization also hosts the SheFi Summit, an annual event bringing together alumni (SheFi graduates), mentors, and industry partners to discuss trends and strengthen the global network of women in Web3.
Its partners and sponsors include some of the most respected names in crypto, helping to support the program financially and connect graduates to opportunities across the ecosystem.
And now, that movement is officially coming to Latin America: SheFi Brazil has just announced its first event in the country, happening in São Paulo on November 9, during ETH Latam.
The gathering will bring together women from the Web3 community for learning, inspiration, and connection, marking the beginning of a new chapter for SheFi in the region.
“SheFi” is a blend of “She” and “DeFi” (decentralized finance).
It perfectly reflects the mission of bringing more women into the DeFi world, a sector shaping the future of digital economies.
But there’s a symbolic layer, too.
If DeFi decentralizes financial power, SheFi decentralizes access, to knowledge, opportunity, and representation.
It reminds us that real innovation doesn’t come from code alone, but from the diversity of those who write it.
SheFi is open globally, and the latest Season 15 has already kicked off, bringing together a new wave of women and non-binary builders from around the world.
Each cohort runs for eight weeks and combines live sessions, practical quests, and mentorship programs.
While applications for Season 15 are now closed, future cohorts will continue expanding access to Web3 education through scholarships and community-driven learning.
Participants gain not just technical knowledge, but also a global network that connects them to DAOs, startups, and blockchain organizations shaping the decentralized future.

It reduces gender inequality in Web3.
Although women make up nearly half of the world’s population, they represent less than 20% of participants in crypto.
Initiatives like SheFi help close that gap by providing education, visibility, and emotional support.
It builds accessible leadership models.
In a space where networking defines opportunity, a strong community of peers and mentors can be career-changing.
SheFi graduates leave with more than skills, they leave with a sense of belonging.
It democratizes financial and technological literacy.
By translating complex blockchain jargon into real-life use cases, SheFi makes Web3 accessible for those who don’t come from technical backgrounds.
It inspires other movements.
By treating inclusion as a driver of innovation, SheFi is influencing other communities and organizations to rethink their approach, proving that diversity fuels progress.
SheFi is also reshaping the cultural narrative around who belongs in crypto.
For years, the space has been seen as competitive, technical, and overwhelmingly male.
SheFi flips that script, creating a culture of curiosity, empathy, and shared learning.
This cultural shift may be just as meaningful as the educational one.
When a woman sees herself represented, as a founder, a mentor, or a peer, she starts to believe she can contribute to building the future too.
That change in perspective is where real transformation begins.
Like all inclusion initiatives, SheFi still faces challenges:
Balancing financial sustainability with accessibility.
Expanding into new languages and regions beyond the English-speaking world.
Measuring long-term impact in terms of employment and leadership outcomes.
Still, the results so far are promising.
SheFi’s model is inspiring similar initiatives around the world, even outside of crypto, combining technical education with community-driven empowerment.
The Web3 revolution isn’t only technological, it’s social.
By shifting power from institutions to individuals, it opens room for new kinds of leadership.
And when women take part in that shift, the story of innovation itself begins to change.
SheFi represents that change.
Instead of seeking inclusion as an afterthought, it proposes co-creation, the idea that a decentralized future must be built with and by women.
The result is an ecosystem that’s more diverse, ethical, and sustainable.
SheFi isn’t just teaching Web3.
It’s teaching people how to belong, how to find purpose, voice, and community within a space that’s still being written.
In a world where technology keeps reshaping power, educating women to master it might be one of the most transformative acts of all.
And if the frontier is truly feminine, as SheFi believes, then the future of Web3 will be more inclusive, creative, and collaborative.
