Sometimes I encounter girls who are crazy about boys. Canโt relate โ never have.
Iโm crazy about my goals and my career.
But then I started thinkingโฆ what if we all actually want the same thing?
Because whenever we say, โI want this thingโ - "thing" being boyfriend/career/whatever) โ What if the "thing" is just a means to an end?
Itโs not the thing itself we want โ itโs what that thing gives us.
I think weโre all chasing the same things weโve always wanted: love, connection, validation. We just have different ways of getting there. Some people look for validation through their job; others through a boyfriend.
And I wanted to share this because the more I โjudgeโ people, the more I realize Iโm way more like them than not.
Of course, I donโt think thereโs anything wrong with judging people (โ or, more specifically, putting people who are wrong for you into boxes to protect your time and energy.) But I find it so interesting that no matter how โdifferentโ or โweirdโ someone looks to us, weโre all just humans searching for the same few things in life. The difference is simply that there are a hundred different ways to get it.
Yeah, just a sweet little epiphany from me to you this week โจ
Life update:
Ok, so as you know, I started working with a client last week โ and the thing thatโs soooo good (and important) about executing โ not just thinking about your goals โ is because the only true way to find out if something actually works for youโฆ is to do it and notice how your body feels. โจ
Iโve already noticed a couple of things I donโt like at all, and I call that โinformation.โ I adjust based on it. Iโll be changing my offer because of this and wonโt be selling services I donโt like providing.
Another thing I did this week (and I highly recommend this to all entrepreneurs): before you start a business, find someone who already has that kind of business. Go talk with them about how it actually works โ ask them what a regular day feels like. Then ask yourself: โIs this personโs Tuesday my dream day?โ If it isnโtโฆ donโt start that type of business.
Entrepreneurship is hard enough as it is โ so the place youโre going has to be worth the ride. ๐
Back to my story: I visited someone who owns a concept in Oslo because Iโve been considering starting something similar in the future. Super cool guy โ and so kind! He told me all about the business model, their story, things to think about, and what heโd do differently if he were to start over (thank u, Alex!)
That gave me so many new thoughts, and I havenโt had time to sit down and reflect on them all yet โ but I know I will this weekend.
So yeah, that was big. And I mean it: go talk to the people whose lives you think you want โ youโve gotta test your theory with minimal risk. We donโt have time to wasteโฆ life is short. ๐
OK, thatโs it from me. And I just want to say thank you for reading. I love writing these updates and it makes me so happy that youโre here receiving them. See you next week, you lovely human being. ๐ฟ
