Sometimes I encounter girls who are crazy about boys. Can’t relate — never have.
I’m crazy about my goals and my career.
But then I started thinking… what if we all actually want the same thing?
Because whenever we say, “I want this thing” - "thing" being boyfriend/career/whatever) — What if the "thing" is just a means to an end?
It’s not the thing itself we want — it’s what that thing gives us.
I think we’re all chasing the same things we’ve always wanted: love, connection, validation. We just have different ways of getting there. Some people look for validation through their job; others through a boyfriend.
And I wanted to share this because the more I “judge” people, the more I realize I’m way more like them than not.
Of course, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with judging people (— or, more specifically, putting people who are wrong for you into boxes to protect your time and energy.) But I find it so interesting that no matter how “different” or “weird” someone looks to us, we’re all just humans searching for the same few things in life. The difference is simply that there are a hundred different ways to get it.
Yeah, just a sweet little epiphany from me to you this week ✨
Life update:
Ok, so as you know, I started working with a client last week — and the thing that’s soooo good (and important) about executing — not just thinking about your goals — is because the only true way to find out if something actually works for you… is to do it and notice how your body feels. ✨
I’ve already noticed a couple of things I don’t like at all, and I call that “information.” I adjust based on it. I’ll be changing my offer because of this and won’t be selling services I don’t like providing.
Another thing I did this week (and I highly recommend this to all entrepreneurs): before you start a business, find someone who already has that kind of business. Go talk with them about how it actually works — ask them what a regular day feels like. Then ask yourself: “Is this person’s Tuesday my dream day?” If it isn’t… don’t start that type of business.
Entrepreneurship is hard enough as it is — so the place you’re going has to be worth the ride. 🚀
Back to my story: I visited someone who owns a concept in Oslo because I’ve been considering starting something similar in the future. Super cool guy — and so kind! He told me all about the business model, their story, things to think about, and what he’d do differently if he were to start over (thank u, Alex!)
That gave me so many new thoughts, and I haven’t had time to sit down and reflect on them all yet — but I know I will this weekend.
So yeah, that was big. And I mean it: go talk to the people whose lives you think you want — you’ve gotta test your theory with minimal risk. We don’t have time to waste… life is short. 💛
OK, that’s it from me. And I just want to say thank you for reading. I love writing these updates and it makes me so happy that you’re here receiving them. See you next week, you lovely human being. 🌿
