Frank America cites superheroes, demi-gods, and how each echo rap stardom in today’s popular culture as driving forces for the series’ material. Artist and graphic designer Cosmic Clancy drew from character themes in the comic series Watchmen, as a source of inspiration for the limited palate and photo-realistic lens placed on her treatment of the world Lil Ruggy inhabits.

Frank originally contacted Clancy in early 2022, and asked if she would approach the project, and possibly use lil baby as an inspiration for the look of the character, with full artistic license granted.

This video from Lil Baby was an integral moment in Frank’s consideration of how to personify Lil Ruggy. These themes were crypto-heavy (BTC, ETH), cool, calm, and collected, and riding higher into a realm not seen by others yet.

As not all of the Vol. 1 NFTs were sold, and we minted one Lil Ruggy per NFT, totalling 389, we still have 389-218= 171 remaining NFTs. If you buy one of the OGs before the end of the year you will be airdropped a Lil’ Ruggy NFT. We will make the rest available for collectors at the end of the year.
This project may only ever have one edition, or another version may find its way onto the blockchain. The goal was to reward the over 150 collectors of our original NFT newsletter series with something special, and we feel this represents that.
